In 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Connie Schreck, and they raised two girls, Christine and Jennifer. Both daughters married hometown boys and have given their folks seven grandchildren.
John was a high school and junior high school principal, teacher, and coach for sixteen years. In 1982, he entered the financial services industry where he currently manages a full-blown practice, specializing in retirement income planning.
