Author, Barbara Rice, nee O’Dell, was born and raised on a small farm in southern Ohio near a small community named Friendship. She was an only child, growing up loving books.

She attended school at Friendship Elementary from first through eighth grades, then started High School at Washington High School, named for the township in that area, graduating on May 5, 1950. Since then, the name of the school has been changed to Portsmouth West.
Barbara is the mother of three children, Joy, Phyllis, and David and scads of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She volunteers at the local Pregnancy Center. She attends the Fostoria Assembly of God. The book was written for the purpose of educating people that life truly begins at conception, and to encourage our youth to complete school, and to practice abstinence as the only sure way to achieve birth control. She is a strong Right to Lifer and believes there is never a reason to abort a child.view less
