She was the granddaughter of Captain (later Sir) William Hugh Tomasson (1858-1922), an Army Officer who had fought in the Anglo-Zulu War in 1879. She is the author of “The Jacobite General,” a biography of Lord George Murray, and “The Battles of the ‘45”. She was very fond of Scotland and also created a portfolio of sketches and paintings between 1910 and the early 1920’s.view less
