of Calcutta, Sailendra Nath Datta was employed as a gazette officer under the
Government of West Bengal, a State in the Union of India. Later he served as a senior
bureaucrat of the same government till his superannuation in 2010. Since his retirement
as a Joint Secretary, he has been engaged as a member of the Editorial Board of
a popular Bengali periodical, dealing with literary and cultural aspects. And at present,
he is working as the Editor of the magazine, with a good rapport amongst the fellow
members, and hugely trusted and entrusted by his Editor-in-chief. He has several books of
poetry published both in English and Bengali to his credit. Amongst them, his last publication
from Partridge, RESURRECTION OF PAIN, has a warm review by the discerning readers,
