After graduating from Penn State University with a B.A. in psychology, he worked odd jobs between hitchhiking adventures before becoming a care manager, arranging services so that seniors could remain living in their homes safely. Tiring of the tedium of a nine-to-five life, he quit his office job before his adventure in Southeast Asia. He returned to the real world to work as a baker and then a tutor before giving in to his traveling addiction. Since then he has stocked grocery store shelves in New Zealand, bussed tables in Yellowstone National Park, waited tables at resorts in Australia, practiced the art of being a beach bum on Maui, led ATV tours in interior Alaska, backpacked around Peru, and cleaned rooms at a hotel at the northernmost truck stop in the world. Between adventures, the author works in the tourism industry in Alaska—alternating between Denali National Park and Gates of the Arctic National Park.view less
