      Nora Roberts’ books are usually really well done. I’d say this one was my least favorite, but it won’t stop me from listening to others of hers.

      I don’t like the male character Lucas. There is a difference between strong and masculine versus mean and abusive. I don’t like that Autumn is attracted to his border line abuse.

      A seafaring adventure in which vessels on both sides of the Second World War find a storm to be the greater enemy. Subplots include the doomed love of a German sailor for a nun and backstories for some of the characters aboard the wrecked tall ship and its rescuers. In many ways a large part of the story is a reworking of A Game For Heroes (Higgins writing as James Graham, 1970).

      the story line is great but i had to stop with the audio. the person reading it made adults seem really old and young adults seem like kids....12yr old Rina sounded like a 5yr old. totally ANNOYING...she sounded like she was reading a kids book

      Worst narrator EVER! Ruined the story for me. I listen to MANY books, and seriously this was by far the worst. I am not even sure why I listened to the end.

      Not a bad story but I did have a hard time getting into the book at first which is surprising for me because it takes place in the WWII era. If you don't know the ins and out of sailing terms be prepared to look things up if you want to understand parts of the book.

      I'd never read any Jack Higgins and found this lying around a beach house, so picked it up and started reading; terrifically well paced with well delineated characters.

      Be advised, this book is from the 80s. It is not new. If you have a hankering to read a romance from a previous Era, you may enjoy this book. If you want something current, like I did, you will be very disappointed. By today's standards, the hero is unlikable, the heroine is weak, and the plot is lame. This is one of the author's early offerings. Perhaps the book is interesting for that, just to see how much she's grown.

      This may be the worst NR book I've ever read. Her love interest was a selfish, abusive asshole and she just loves it. Gross.
