My Dear Prime Minister Modi ji,
Namaskar.
It is heartening to note that you as PM of our democratic-secular state have underlined the great diversities in the Indian nation which needed to be celebrated. While addressing a conference on 'Islamic Heritage: Promoting Understanding and Moderation' in the presence of the King of Jordan, Abdullah II in Delhi on March 1, 2018 you were kind enough to declare that India's democracy was "a celebration of our age-old plurality" recalling that "religions and beliefs from all over the world" flourished in the country. It was great to hear you to commit that "We Indians are proud of our diversity." While specially addressing the Muslim youth of India you were kind enough to advise them to hold Quran in one hand and computer in the other for an all-inclusive progress and welfare. However, I would beg to say that this call for Quran or any other scripture in one hand is a risky proposition. The US taught Afghan youth Quran in one hand and AK47 in other hand and what price Afghan Muslims paid for it is well known.

If somebody is looking for a gurukul or university to graduate from in deceit and lies, doubtlessly, the RSS will be his or her best choice. Its mastery over this trait is unparalleled and is proved once again by its criminal disregard of facts on the controversy over beef-eating in Indian history by Hindus of India. It aggressively claims that beef-eating started in India with the arrival of Muslims as rulers who initiated and subsequently popularized it in order to denigrate Hindus and their holy symbols. Such propaganda helps the Hindutva gang in terrorizing the largest minority of India. It is to be noted here that since the early 20th century, coinciding with the rise of Hindutva politics, cow has been the most important issue which has triggered the maximum cases of violence against the Muslims of the country. It is immaterial to the Indian heirs of Nazi propagandist Paul Joseph Goebbels that the claim that beef-eating started with the arrival of Muslims in India is not even in keeping with the Vedic version of history.

ON THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INDIAN AND HINDU NATIONALISM
Indian nationalism and Hindu nationalism are two different things. While the former is unconcerned with a person‟s religious or cultural identity, the latter imagines the nation as an exclusive community of Hindus. From the time of Independence till now, this distinction has never been in doubt.
But today there is a move by flag-bearers of Hindu nationalism to equate it with Indian nationalism. What exactly is the provenance of these two nationalist ideologies? Who were their earliest proponents? What role did either play in India‟s freedom struggle? These are some of the questions that author and dramatist Shamsul Islam dwells on in Hindu Nationalism and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh , a fine primer on the history and dynamics of Hindu nationalism.
Islam cites extensively from the works of historians and thinkers who themselves are part of the Hindu nationalist canon, such as R.C. Majumdar and V.D. Savarkar, to interrogate many of its claims. For instance, he shows how Majumdar contradicts the Hindu nationalist claim of India being a „primordial nation‟, given the historian‟s observation that the idea of India “had no application to actual politics till the sixties or the seventies of the nineteenth century.”
Indian nationalism was born in opposition to British colonial oppression. Its most significant moment of resistance was the 1857 mutiny, in which Hindus and Muslims battled together against foreign rule. Islam cites Thomas Lowe, a British army commander, who observed that “the cow-killer and the cow-worshipper, the pig-hater and the pig-eater” fought together.
But this nascent Indian nationalism that was composite in nature underwent a process of bifurcation in the “third quarter of the nineteenth century”, notes Islam. Two things played a role in this: a „divide and rule‟ policy adopted by the British, and the bickering between the elites of the two communities “for securing a favourable place in the eyes of the victor”. Together they created a “scenario in which only competitive Hindu and Muslim varieties of nationalism could flourish.”
Islam‟s book also raises interesting questions: If Indian civilisation is more than 3,500 years old, why is it that only a period of 500 years (the period of so-called Muslim rule) is closely scrutinised by Hindu nationalists? What about the period before?
It might be interesting to read Islam‟s book alongside his primary sources: V.D. Savarkar‟s The Indian War of Independence of 1857 and R.C. Majumdar‟s Three Phases of India’s Struggle for Freedom.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar today shares national eminence with M. K. Gandhi; their portraits hang side by side on the walls of Indian Parliament. These documents, astonishingly, show that he not only kept aloof from the Freedom Movement but also openly helped the British war efforts during the World War II at a time when Subhash Chandra Bose was trying to liberate India militarily. Savarkar remained a die-hard believer in Casteism, Racism and Imperialism throughout his life. He called it Hindutva. This book also evaluates the original 1923 edition of 'Hindutva' authored by Savarkar so that all those who cherish a democratic-secular India are able to understand the gravity of ideas which originated to undo India.

Both supported the caste system, asserting the superiority of the Brahmins over other castes and the need to keep their lineage free of contamination by inter-marriages with other castes. Both regarded Islam and Christianity as non-Indian because they originated outside India and believed that unless they recognised India as their fatherland and holy land, they were to be treated as second-class citizens.
Both believed in the superiority of the Aryan race and approved of Adolf Hitler exterminating millions of Jews in gas chambers. Nevertheless they supported Zionism and Jewish State of Israel for no other reason than it was forever waging wars against its Arab neighbours who were Muslims. Islamophobia became an integral part of Hindutva…I had read his Bunch of Letters  [Bunch of Thoughts] earlier and put it out of my mind. I didn’t know of his WE OR OUR NATIONHOOD DEFINED. It was published in 1939…It has been republished with the full text and A Critique by Shamsul Islam by Pharos Press. It substantiates all of what I have said."

This booklet examines the politics of the Sangh Parivar, the family of Hindutva organisations centred on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.  It looks at three particular areas of analysis that are often ignored: the mass base of the Sangh Parivar; its relationship to developments in India's political economy; and its impact on the Indian polity.

This essay raises certain serious issues regarding future of Indian democracy. In the light of facts discussed about Hindutva politics (based on its documents) it should not be difficult to comprehend that RSS and its camp followers present the greatest internal danger to democratic-secular polity which ostensibly stands for justice and equality. The shocking reality is that except RSS & Hindutva clan all those who want to destroy Indian democracy (like Naxalites, militants belonging to other religious outfits and regional separatist groups) have met with brute force of the Indian State. But the former are having free run (heading central and state governments) despite open violent preaching for overthrowing the democratic-secular Indian polity. This is despite the fact that Neo-Nazis of Europe have openly disclosed their close affinity with RSS and its clan and offered to  help in overthrowing democracy in India & elsewhere. Imagine if the same ideology was preached by ‘militants’ of Dalit, Muslim, Sikh or any other variety, their fate would have been sealed by bullet or jail. We urgently need to take note of the serious danger posed by RSS and its clan. They should not be allowed to undo a democratic-secular India. We should not allow them the liberty to force us to the path of a theocratic state like Pakistan.

HINDU NATIONALISM & RSS by Shamsul Islam [revised 4th (2022), introduction by Professor Richard Bonney]
This book traces the history of Hindu nationalism with a special focus on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as its prominent flag bearer. Through an in-depth study of archival sources and more recent documents, the author challenges the claim of Hindu nationalism as being primordial. He argues that in addition to being a modern construct, it laid the foundation of Hindu separatism or a two-nation theory which was later adopted by Muslim separatists like Mohammed Ali Jinnah. This book describes the growth of Hindu nationalism and its appearance as Hindutva which glorifies Casteism, Racism and totalitarianism. This work also investigates how the book Hindutva authored by VD Savarkar (1923) and MS Golwalkar’s We or Our Nationhood Defined (1939) continue to determine the discourse of Hindu nationalism. The author has spent more than four decades collecting and scrutinizing original RSS documents from different parts of the country, especially the ones relating to pre-Independence India. These documents are the foundation for the direction which RSS was destined to take as a sectarian Hindu separatist organization opposed to democratic, secular and egalitarian ideals.

RSS IDEOLOGUE NANA DESHMUKH JUSTIFIED 1984 MASSACRE OF SIKHS
""The blood of innocent Sikhs massacred in 1984, spilled in different parts of the country and seen on the cuffs of the then rulers has not been erased from the memories despite ganging up of almost all parliamentary political parties in seeing to it that perpetrators are not punished. It is undeniable fact that since 1984 all kinds of political parties, left, right (which include BJP & Akali Dal) and centre ruled this country but the search for culprits is still on.  It is in total conformity to what happened in cases of mass violence against Dalits, Muslims and Christians in different parts of the country. However the reality is that despite ‘national consensus’ over keeping incidents of violence against minorities under wrap, the blood of innocents keep on crying; unkaa lahoo pukarta hae!

1984 massacre is in news once again. This time it is a matter of acrimony between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RSS choice for prime-ministership, Narendra Modi. It started with Rahul. In a speech in Alwar in Rajasthan, Mr. Gandhi said it had taken 15 years to overcome his anger over the assassinations of his paternal grandmother, Indira Gandhi, the then PM of the country. He, though, remained criminally silent about anger of Sikhs and democratic sections of the country who were angry on the massacre of Sikhs and still are after almost 3 decades.

Modi was quick to decry Rahul’s anger and reminded him that due to this hatred against Sikhs thousands of Sikhs were killed. Speaking in Jhansi, UP, Modi, Hindutva icon and RSS whole-timer lamented the fact that culprits are yet to be booked and tried for this massacre. Thus the blame game continues but Modi did not tell the nation what NDA governments which ruled this country from 1998 to 2004 did to bring to justice the culprits. Modi also forgot to share the fact that as per the autobiography of LK Advani (page 430); it was his Party which forced Indira Gandhi to go for army action named as Blue Star which killed large number of pilgrims.

It is true that despite innumerable high-power committees, police investigation teams and commissions these are few small fries who have been booked; the real culprits are still eluding the call of justice. The reality is that almost in last 3 decades though the country has been ruled by every shade of political opinion there has been no political will to prosecute the culprits.

It is generally believed that the Congress cadres were behind this genocide. This is true but there were other forces too which actively participated in this massacre and whose role has never been investigated. Those who were witness to the genocide of 1984 were stunned by the swiftness and military precision of the killer marauding gangs (later on witnessed during the Babri mosque demolition, burning alive of Dr. Graham Steins with his two sons, 2002 pogrom of the Muslims in Gujarat and cleansing of Christians in parts of Orissa) who went on a burning spree of the innocent Sikhs. This, surely, was beyond the capacity of the thugs led by many Congress leaders.

The author has in his possession a crucial document which may throw some light on the hidden aspects of the genocide and identify the overall forces which executed it. It was authored and circulated by veteran ideologue of the RSS, Mr. Nana Deshmukh on November 8, 1984. Interestingly, this document was published in the Hindi Weekly 'Pratipaksh' edited by Mr. George Fernandes (Defence Minister of India 1999-2004, and presently a great pal of BJP/RSS) in its edition of November 25, 1984 titled ‘Indira Congress-RSS collusion’ with the following editorial comment:
'The author of the following document is known as an ideologue and policy formulator of the RSS. After the killing of Prime Minister (Indira Gandhi) he distributed this document among prominent politicians. It has a historical significance that is why we have decided to publish it, violating policy of our Weekly. This document highlights the new affinities developing between the Indira Congress and the RSS. We produce here the Hindi translation of the document.'

This document may help in unmasking the whole lot of criminals involved in the massacre of innocent Sikhs who had nothing to do with the killing of Indira Gandhi. This document may also throw light on where the cadres came from, who meticulously organized the killing of Sikhs. Mr. Nana Deshmukh in this document is seen outlining the justification of the massacre of the Sikh community in 1984. According to him the massacre of Sikhs was not the handiwork of any group or anti-social elements but the result of a genuine feeling of anger among Hindus of India.

This document also shows the true degenerated and fascist attitude of the RSS towards all the minorities of India. The RSS has been arguing that they are against Muslims and Christians because they are the followers of foreign religions. Here we find them justifying the butchering of Sikhs who according to their own categorization happened to be the followers of an indigenous religion.

The RSS often poses as a firm believer in Hindu-Sikh unity. But in this document we will hear from the horse’s mouth that the RSS like the then Congress leadership, believed that the massacre of the innocent Sikhs was justified. Mr. Deshmukh in this document is seen outlining the justification of the massacre of the Sikh community in 1984. His defence of the carnage in light of his document is discussed here. It is to be noted that despite attempts to turn this issue into  Sikhs versus Hindus and others, there were thousands and thousand Indians who guarded Sikhs against attacks and stood with them.""

It is in response to Rahul Pandita’s piece ‘Gorakhpur and the Ghost of Gangadhar Adhikari: Whether liberals like it or not, the story of Hindu consolidation is not over yet’ which appeared in Open Magazine on March 22, 2017. My response is a lengthy one, as reproduction of many original documents from the RSS/Hindutva archives is needed to evaluate many beliefs of Rahul Pandita. This detailed response can be handy resource material to challenge the justification of Hindutva rule in India by the Hindutva zealots and characters who as fence-sitters were just waiting India to be stormed by the Hindutva gang to join the latter.
Rahul's glorification of the forthcoming Hindutva rule in India reminds me of Max Weinreich's eye-opener book ‘Hitler's Professors: The Part of Scholarship in Germany's Crimes Against the Jewish People’ [Yale University Press, New Haven, 1999]. It is a narrative of the contemporary documents showing how intellectuals in Germany worked overtime to legitimize the Nazis led by Hitler and facilitated latter’s capture of power in Germany.

The Hindutva brigade is fond of declaring Dr. Mookerjee as great nationalist and patriot who laid down his life for the unity of the nation. Modi described him as “a statesman, thinker and a patriot who devoted his life towards strengthening national integration”. The Hindutva rhetoric about patriotism of Dr. Mookerjee needs to be cross-checked with the contemporary documents available even in RSS and Hindu Mahasabha archives. Perusal of these documents clearly shows that the claim that Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee was a ‘selfless patriot’ and a great patriot right from his birth is a white lie. Dr Mookerjee never-never participated in the anti-colonial freedom struggle. If patriotism means being part of the freedom struggle and making sacrifices, Dr Mookerjee not only kept aloof from it but also betrayed it by collaborating with the British rulers and the Muslim League in order to crush and communally polarize the anti-British liberation movement.

Narendra Modi who is chief minister of a state in India functioning as a constitutional authority under a democratic-secular constitution of India. However, he declares himself to be a 'Hindu Nationalist' trained by RSS and a practitioner of Hindutva politics. This is bizarre. In this open letter he is being reminded that it was a group of 'Hindu Nationalists' which assassinated MK Gandhi, regarded by many as Father of the Indian Nation. The RSS/Hindutva documents are quoted in this letter showing that they do not believe in a democratic-secular set-up. This group decries Indian National Flag, sympathises with Nazis/Fascists and wants India to be ruled by one ideology and one leader.They want to impose Code of Manu and make women and Dalits slaves. It is hoped that Modi will respond to the issues raised in this letter.

DEAR PM MODI, AURANGZEB RULE WAS ALSO THE RULE OF HINDU HIGH CASTES!
Narendra Modi, a senior swayamsevak (member) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, long back in 2013 when he occupied the office of chief minister of Gujarat, declared himself to be a ‘Hindu nationalist’.  As the PM of the largest democratic-secular polity in the world; India, he misses no opportunity to stress the favourite Hindutva binary of putting Hindus and Muslims as two communities at war in the country. He resorted to this favourite polarizing theme of his while speaking at the inauguration of the renovated and expanded Kashi Vishwanath Dham [Kashi Vishwanath Temple] in his Varanasi parliamentary constituency on December 13, 2021. Digging into past of Benares now Varanasi (Kashi) he stated:
“Tyrants attacked this city, tried to destroy it. History is witness to Aurangzeb’s atrocities, his terror. He tried to change civilisation with the sword. He tried to crush culture with fanaticism. But the soil of this country is different from that of the rest of the world. Here if an Aurangzeb comes, a Shivaji also rises.” 
For PM, the story of repression and persecution by Aurangzeb, a Mughal king is not the story of some individual tyrant ruler but a bigoted Muslim who hated Hindus and Hinduism. Aurangzeb personified all Muslims of India and the religion Islam. Unfortunately our PM as a Hindutva bigot brazenly discards some very crucial historical facts even stated in the contemporary ‘Hindu’ narratives about the rule of Aurangzeb [1658-1707].

INCLUSION OF STUDY OF RSS IN THE UNIVERSITY SYLLABUS
OPEN LETTER TO THE VICE-CHANCELLOR OF RASHTRASANT TUKADOJI MAHARAJ NAGPUR UNIVERSITY
Respected Vice-chancellor Dr. Siddharthavinayaka P. Kane Saheb,
I am writing this open letter to you on a critical issue concerning the contents of the syllabus at your University. As per a communiqué of the the University which must have had your concurrence, the history of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and its role in 'nation-building' have been included in the syllabus for in the second year BA (History) course. Surprisingly, it has been accommodated by removing a crucial topic, 'Rise and growth of communalism in India'. According to Mr. Satish Chafle, spokesperson the University it has been done to accommodate the "Nationalist school of thoughts".

There cannot be a bigger lie than this that RSS was ever an Indian nationalist organization or it played any nation-building role so far as our democratic-secular India is concerned. On the contrary, RSS since its birth in 1925 with its Hindutva allies like Hindu Mahasabha led by VD Savarkar worked overtime to betray the glorious anti-colonial freedom struggle, denigrated all symbols of national unity, belittled the martyrs, demanded promulgation of inhuman Manusmriti as constitution of India, decried democracy  and demanded conversion of democratic-secular polity into a Hindutva state. As if all this was not enough, the RSS idol and the Hindutva icon 'Veer' Savarkar led Hindu Mahasabha ran coalition governments with the Muslim League in 1942 and backstabbed Netaji when he was trying to liberate Indian militarily.

I trust you as an educationist and believe that you have stakes in finding the truth about RSS or any other organization. I am producing immensely disturbing facts about the ideology and practices of RSS from its own archives and no other source.

Through my case study of Devī Pātan, a Śāktīpītha Nāthyogī maṭh and temple on the India–Nepal border subordinate to the Gorakhnāth maṭh, my article demonstrates that Nāthyogī monastic networks are produced through spatial practices. Specifically, it focuses on shrines connected with Pīr Ratannāth, also known as Hājjīrattan, a legendary yogī of the Nāth sampradāy, widely worshipped across religious boundaries, who is said to have built Devī Pātan. Through the elusive figure of Ratannāth, I analyse how robust monastic networks focused on pilgrimage, trade and power, ‘made’ space and borders in the colonial and postcolonial period. Devī Pātan’s relationship with the Caughera maṭh in the Gorkha kingdom of Nepal and the Gorakhnāth maṭh in British India and after 1947 illustrates how competitive Nāthyogī monastic networks were historically produced and transformed through struggles between monastic institutions over space, resources and power across fraught borders. Ratannāth’s hagiographies, which emphasise his mobility, elasticity and importance in the world of saint veneration, reflect this world in which competing Nāthyogī nodes of circulation reworked relationships with each other. Simultaneously, they challenged ‘fixed’ cartographic boundaries between British India and the Gorkha kingdom of Nepal before 1947, and thereafter of new nation states. My essay also illustrates that histories of monasticism, space and place which have been memorialised by these shrines in representations of Ratannāth and Devī Pātan in recent times question the hegemonic narratives relating to Ratannāth authorised by the Gorakhnāth maṭh, known today for its close alignment with the Sangh Parivār, and its exclusionary vision of Hindutvā. Thus, the figure of Ratannāth transcends efforts to subordinate such border-crossing yogis to problematic majoritarian cartographic and political projects.

NOVEMBER 26; THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION DAY
HOW RSS DENIGRATED INDIAN CONSTITUTION: A PEEP INTO ITS ARCHIVES
The Constituent Assembly of India finalized the Constitution of India on November 26, 1949 which is celebrated as the CONSTITUTION DAY. This Constitution promised new born Indian Republic a polity based on democracy, justice, egalitarianism and rule of law. However, RSS was greatly annoyed. Four days after the historic event of approval of it, the RSS English Organiser in an editorial on November 30, 1949, complained:
“But in our Constitution there is no mention of the unique constitutional development in ancient Bharat. Manu’s Laws were written long before Lycurgus of Sparta or Solon of Persia. To this day his laws as enunciated in the Manusmriti excite the admiration of the world and elicit spontaneous obedience and conformity. But to our constitutional pundits that means nothing.”

Saffronisation, a neologism that is derived from the saffron robes worn in particular by holy Hindu men, is used to denote the conflation of linguistic, semiotic and political actions taken by the far-right Hindu nationalist brotherhood in India to mechanically alter Indian history so that it resonates with the rest of the Hindu nationalist propaganda and policymaking. The process of Saffronisation, when coupled with westernised pedagogical curricula, has been inculcated within and beyond the periphery of educational institutions since the early twentieth century. This paper explores the impact of Saffroni-sation as a socio-political movement on educational institutions, the changes that have been made in textbooks in the recent times and in a holistic sense, attempts to analyse the effects of a neo-Fascist governance on schooling and how it affects students hailing from backgrounds that have been marginalised for generations. It is also an exploration of the role of the saffron propaganda in enabling otherisation of non-Hindu identities in higher education institutions.

MOHAN BHAGWAT THREATENS TO OVERRUN INDIAN REPUBLIC WITH HINDUTVA MERCENARIES

Despite four years of the RSS (via its pocket organization BJP) rule in India under the leadership of PM Modi, a hardened practitioner of the Hindutva politics, the RSS dream of converting democratic-secular polity of India into Hindu rashtra where Manusmriti would be law of the land seems to have  fizzled out. The RSS had declared the enthronement of Modi as PM in 2014 as return of Hindu rule after almost 1000 years; last Hindu ruler being Prithvi Raj Chauhan, ruler of Ajmer. However, with strong constitutional edifice in place keeping Indian Republic functional and safe, the RSS project of undoing it as a pre-requisite for establishing Hindu State in India did not succeed. It is true that it was able to undermine parts of judiciary, administrative-cum- police, media and political set ups but the Indian constitutional polity, with in-built safeguards against the abrupt change of course, largely did not succumb to the Hindutva juggernaut.

The RSS including PM Modi knows that constitutional coup for establishing Hindu State of its dreams has not succeeded and is not likely to succeed in future. They could have waited for another victory in the next national elections due in 2019 to make another attempt but are not sure of victory. This frustration with the Indian Republic is forcing RSS to adopt more insidious steps to undo the former.

The latest statement of RSS boss, Mohan Bhagwat at Muzaffarpur, Bihar that RSS has the ability to prepare an "army" to fight for the country within three days should be seen in this context only. He told the RSS cadres of eastern India that
"Sangh will prepare military personnel within three days which the Army would do in 6-7 months. This is our capability. Swayamsewak will be ready to take on the front if the country faces such a situation and Constitution permits to do so".

"This paper seeks to argue that, for reasons specific to Indian capitalism at this historical moment, what we might call the political projects of Hindutva and neoliberalism share certain socio-political agendas. This shared agenda extends at times to a tactical alliance of the two, where both seek to exploit their "common ground" in order to achieve a restructuring of the Indian polity. Moreover, this alliance has already had a considerable impact on large parts of the discursive and political landscape of India - an impact that has not yet been seriously challenged.

The argument here is neither that this shared agenda was inevitable, nor that it precludes alliances between neoliberalism and other political forces in India. The analysis postulates that this is a historically specific development, shaped by political circumstances, the current balance of forces and the choices made by political actors. Yet, this is also not an alliance based purely on expediency. These projects have shared a logic whose validity is not infinite - in the sense that it will eventually break down under the weight of its contradictions - but is also not entirely non-existent."

AMIT SHAH DE FACTO PM OF INDIA ON INDIAN PARTITION: BULLDOZING HISTORY
No other fascist organization, in the present world, can beat Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in demagogy, hypocrisy and double-speak. In fact, what George Orwell termed as "doublespeak" would be an understatement in the case of RSS. The latest proof of this nasty character was provided by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, de facto PM and a senior RSS leader in the Lok Sabha (akin to the House of Commons in England) on December 9, 2019. While introducing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 which is not only against democratic-secular Indian Constitution but also violates all humanitarian principles; this Hindutva zealot justified the need for such a law by referring to the Partition of India in 1947. He told the law-makers,
“You want to know why this bill is necessary. If the Congress had not divided this country on the basis of religion, there would be no need to bring in this bill. It was the Congress that divided the country on religious lines, not us,”

It was unashamed bulldozing of history with the aim to hide the identity of the real culprits who dissected a nation causing unimaginable bloodshed, violence and destruction. When Amit Shah claims that "it was the Congress that divided the country on religious lines, not us,” it is not due to ignorance or outcome of his illiteracy. It was Goebbels speaking through Amit Shah; shout a lie multiple times so that it becomes a truth!
Let us compare the above claim of Amit Shah with the contemporary documents available in the archives of Hindutva organizations like RSS and Hindu Mahasabha led by VD Savarkar.

PM Modi a senior seasoned swayamsevak of RSS who describes himself as 'Hindu nationalist' misses no opportunity to denigrate minorities of India specially Muslims. The latest was when on September 25, 2016 while addressing a national level BJP conclave at Kozhikode, Kerala he did not forget to share his belief with his captive audience about Muslims being 'other' or 'different from 'us' borrowing directly from RSS archives. For him Muslims were not like any other citizens of India but a problem and to put across his message with more clarity he quoted a senior ideologue of the RSS, Deendayal Upadhyaya (1916-1968). According to Modi: " Fifty years ago, Pandit Upadhyaya said 'do not reward/appease (puraskrit) Muslims, do not shun (tiraskrit) them but purify (parishkar) them'. Do not treat Muslims like vote ki mandi ka maal (vote banks) or ghrina ki vastu (object of hatred). Unhe apna samjho (regard them as your own) "
This statement of Modi was widely reported by media. But the most shocking aspect was that Hindi word ‘parishkar’ which means ‘to purify’ was changed to ‘empowerment’ by English media and ‘sashaktikaran’ by the Hindi media. Even media houses which are supposed to be objective did it  and same was with the print media  except few exceptions like The Tribune and The Telegraph. It is to be noted that in none of the Hindi/Sanskrit to English dictionaries ‘parishkar’ is translated as ‘empowerment’. Why this ‘creativity’ was done in changing the meaning of a word spoken by PM Modi is not difficult to explain. The media is working overtime to present Modi as a great democrat despite his Hindutva and anti-democratic/secular leanings.

This August 8, 2016, we are commemorating the 74th anniversary of the Quit India Movement [QIM]. QIM also known as ‘August Kranti'(August Revolution) was a nation-wide Civil Disobedience Movement for which a call was given on August 7, 1942 by the Bombay session of the All-India Congress Committee. It began on August 8, with Gandhi making a call to Do or Die in his Quit India speech delivered in Mumbai at the Gowalia Tank Maidan.
The British swiftly responded with mass detentions. Over 100,000 arrests were made, mass fines were levied and demonstrators were subjected to public flogging. Hundreds of civilians were killed in violence many shot by the police army. Many national leaders went underground and continued their struggle by broadcasting messages over clandestine radio stations, distributing pamphlets and establishing parallel governments.
Most of us know that the then Communist Party of India opposed the QIM thus betraying a great phase of mass upsurge in the history of the freedom struggle. However, what role the then Hindutva camp—consisting of the Hindu Mahasabha and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh —played in the QIM is under wraps for reasons unknown. The Hindutva camp not only opposed QIM but also provided multi-faceted and multi-dimensional support to the British rulers in suppressing this historic mass upsurge. In this connection shocking documents are available; these should be read to be believed.

Leidig’s article addresses a theoretical and empirical lacuna by analysing Hindutva using the terminology of right-wing extremism. It situates the origins of Hindutva in colonial India where it emerged through sustained interaction with ideologues in Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany who, in turn, engaged with Hindutva to further their own ideological developments. Following India’s independence, Hindutva actors played a central role in the violence of nation-building and in creating a majoritarian identity. Yet Hindutva was not truly ‘mainstreamed’ until the election of the current prime minister, Narendra Modi, in 2014. In order to construct a narrative that furthered Hindu insecurity, Modi mobilized his campaign by appealing to recurring themes of a Muslim ‘threat’ to the Hindu majority. The result is that Hindutva has become synonymous with Indian nationalism. Leidig seeks to bridge the scholarly divide between, on the one hand, the study of right-wing extremism as a field dominated by western scholars and disciplines and, on the other, the study of Hindutva as a field that is of interest almost exclusively to scholars in South Asian studies. It provides an analytical contribution towards the conceptualization of right-wing extremism as a global phenomenon.

महान शहीद भगत सिंह, राजगुरू, सुखदेव और बेशर्म हिंदुत्व टोली
23 मार्च 2019 को भगत सिंह, राजगुरू और सुखदेव का 88वां शहादत दिवस है।  उन्हें अँगरेज़ सरकार ने लाहौर जेल (अब पाकिस्तान में) इस जुर्म में फांसी दी थी की उन्हों ने अंग्रेज़ी साम्राजयवाद के चुंगुल  से देश को आज़ाद कराने के लिए मुक्ति-युद्ध छेड़ा था।  गोरे शासकों को यक़ीन था की इन इंक़लाबियों को जान  से मरने के बाद मुक्ति-युद्ध समाप्त हो जाएगा और उनके दुवारा प्रसारित किये जा रहे एक आज़ाद भारत जिस में बराबरी,  प्रजातंत्र और धर्मनिरपेक्षता होगी के सपने और विचारों पर विराम लग जाएगा। इतिहास इस बात का साक्षी है कि अँगरेज़ शासक, अन्य शासकों की तरह, पूरे  तौर पर ग़लत साबित हुवे। इन जवान इन्क़िलाबियों की  शहादत ने आज़ादी के विचारों को घर-घर तक पहुंचादिया और आज भी उनकी क़ुर्बानियां लोगों को याद हैं और प्रेरित करती हैं । 
गोरे शासकों ने सूली चढ़ाया और काले अँगरेज़ तमाशा देखते रहे 
लेकिन इन महान शहीदों की क़ुर्बानी की 88वीं  बरसी पर हमें यह क़तई नहीं भूलना चाहिए कि यह गोरे अँगरेज़ थे जिन्हों ने इन इन्क़िलाबियों को फांसी दी थी लेकिन उस समय मुस्लिम लीग, हिंदू-महासभा और आरएसएस से जुड़े काले अँगरेज़ या हिंदुस्तानी भी थे जो गोर शासकों की सेवा में लगे थे।  इन काले अंग्रेज़ों ने न सिर्फ़ इन क्रांतिकारियों के उद्देश्यों और आंदोलनों से दूरी बनाये रखी बल्कि  उनकी शहादत के मौक़े  पर शर्मनाक चुप्पी बनाये रखी। आरएसएस के 2 बड़े विचारक और सर्वसर्वा, के बी हेडगेवार (1889-1940)और एम् एस गोलवलकर (1906-1973) थे लेकिन इन शहीदों के बारे में, उनके संघर्ष को लेकर एक चुप्पी साधे रखी। आजकल हिन्दुत्वादी टोली के सरग़ना, आरएसएस को भी इन शहीदों की याद आ रही है।  इन के फोटो आरएसएस  आयोजनों में देखे जा सकते हैं।
