Organizational climate and learning organization

Teaching is a complex work that demands highly specialized skills and knowledge to impact students’ learning.  The well-being of society depends upon students who will carry the responsibility for the future growth. In achieving this goal, UAE vision 2021 prioritizes education and the development of human capital, in the form of teachers, particularly as they are the key agents in the country's efforts to establish the knowledge-based economy. During educational reform, the quality, the contribution, and the satisfaction of the academic staff become determinant factors for the reform sustainability.

As a complex phenomenon, job satisfaction (JS) factors itself prominently in the development of any educational organizations as it can lead to both positive and negative results (Spector 1997). Work productivity and performance, students’ attainment, organizational commitment and the overall productivity of the organization are influenced by JS.   

While there is a plethora of Western research to validate the impact of external and internal factors on teacher’s job satisfaction and organizational commitment, studies exploring job satisfaction from teachers’ perspectives and with employing phenomenological research are still emerging in UAE.

Research into organizational citizenship behavior has engaged the attention of Industrial and Organizational Psychologist in recent times with a lot of focus devoted to identifying the antecedents of such behaviors. The researcher sought to determine the extent to which engagement in organizational citizenship behavior was influenced by perceived organizational climate and organizational tenure of employees in the banking industry of Ghana. Using correlational and cross-sectional survey designs, the researcher drew 152 respondents conveniently from the banks involved in the study. Pearson Product-Moment correlation and Independent t-tests were the statistical tools used for the analysis of the 2 hypotheses. Analysis of results indicates that employee’s perception of organizational climate positively influenced OCB. There was no significant relationship between bankers’ organizational tenure and OCB in the Ghanaian context. This study provides human resource practitioners with insights into the relationship between perceived organizational climate, tenure and OCB as a desirable work attitude. The implications of the study are discussed.

The paper attempts to explore the believe that organizational climate generally exert considerable influence on Job satisfaction and the behavior of employees. The variables chosen for the study under organizational climate include management and leadership style, personnel policies, working conditions, and challenging jobs, participation in decision making, boredom and frustration, fringe benefits and suitable career ladder, while for job satisfaction, the elements include clear lines of communication salary package, promotional opportunities, appropriate administrative style, support from superiors, workload and feedback about performance.
Data used for the study consists of the responses to a structured questionnaire of three hundred and eighty-four (384) academic staff ranging from Professors , Associate professors to Graduate assistants of five (5) private Universities within the South-west Nigeria.
The findings of the study show that while the assertion is fully supported, the results of the analysis also revealed that there is a significant positive relationship between the major variables i.e. organizational climate and job satisfaction.

Hace unos años, la lectura de los ensayos del francés Jean Baudrillard, La guerra del Golfo no ha tenido lugar, me inspiró estas reflexiones y me sugirió una suerte de bosquejo, un camino para entender una posible relación entre comunicación, el poder y el conflicto, manifestada allí donde el trato cotidiano involucra la posibilidad de influir
en los otros.

Los conflictos reales se evitan. El simulado sustituye al verdadero.Una reflexion de las relaciones interpersonales en el ambito de trabajo pero a la luz del concepto de simulacro de Jean Baudrillard. ¿Comunicarse con la verdad o simular? ¿ética de la comunicación interpersonal?

Kepimpinan Instruksional merupakan salah satu amalan kepimpinan yang diberi penekanan di sekolah-sekolah selain daripada kepimpinan autokratik, demokratik, laissez-faire dan transformasional. Guru besar merupakan pemimpin yang akan mengurus dan mentadbir sesebuah organisasi sekolah termasuklah pengurusan terhadap guru-guru dan pelajar. Justeru, amat penting untuk guru besar memilih gaya amalan kepimpinan yang sesuai bagi menepati keperluan sesebuah sekolah agar dapat mencorak dan membangunkan modal insan dengan berlandaskan falsafah pendidikan negara. Kertas konsep ini bertujuan untuk membincangkan peranan dan mencadangkan bagaimana kepimpinan instruksional guru besar dalam mewujudkan iklim pembelajaran positif guru besar dan hubungannya terhadap meningkatkan komitmen kerja guru. Perbincangan ini meliputi konsep kepimpinan instruksional guru besar khususnya terhadap iklim pembelajaran dan konsep komitmen kerja guru. Seterusnya, kertas konsep ini juga akan membincangkan tentang masalah yang menjadi kekangan terhadap mengimplementasikan kepimpinan instruksional guru besar di sekolah. Sebagai penambahbaikan, kertas konsep ini mengutarakan beberapa cadangan bagi meningkatkan pemupukan iklim pembelajaran positif dan meningkatkan komitmen kerja guru di sekolah khususnya di sekolah rendah.

Instructional Leadership is one of the leadership practices emphasized in schools other than autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire and transformational leadership. Principals are leaders who will manage and administer a school organization including management of teachers and students. Therefore, it is important for principals to choose the right style of leadership to meet the needs of a school in order to model and develop human capital in line with the philosophy of national education. This concept paper aims to discuss the role and proposition of how head teachers' instructional leadership in creating a positive teacher learning climate and its relationship to increasing teacher work commitment. This discussion covers the concept of the headmaster's instructional leadership especially on the learning climate and the concept of teacher work commitment. In turn, this concept paper will also discuss the obstacles to implementing the headmaster's instructional leadership in schools. In addition, this concept paper addresses several suggestions for enhancing positive learning climate and enhancing teacher work commitment in schools, especially in primary schools.
