Noetic Science

Current science is inadequate for describing the complex framework for the origin of sexual preference because science has not had until now either a comprehensive model of living systems or 'consciousness' able to delineate the correspondence between biophysics and the noetic effect of the 3 rd regime of unified field mechanics. This work begins reviewing aspects of psychology, biology and cognitive science, then develops an anthropic telergic teleology of mind-body interaction (physically real Cartesian interactive dualism) as the context for developing a pragmatic scientific model for the fundamental origin of sexual preference. The model utilizes archetypes originating in Jung's concept of a collective unconscious which are also presumed to be physically real elements of 'mind'. This so-called Noetic Theory (relying on spirit (chi, prana) as an inherent self-organized aspect of a 'vital field', as a physically real action principle) predicts a prenatal stressor acting during a key stage of embryonic development typically under a panoply of one or both parents exhibiting a threshold (gradient of severity) personality disorder(s). The resultant action of this 'noetic effect' orients the anima and animus archetypes as they are coupled into the biophysical substrate of the psyche (soul) and reverses, for the case here, the normal orientation hierarchy of the noetic field within the individuals 'psychosphere'. Initially, because of conceptual similarity, the periodic reversal of the Earth's geomagnetic field by the force of solar wind on the dynamo at the Earth's core is utilized as a metaphor to axiomatically illustrate inversion of the Jungian anima and animus. This scenario is followed by a more technical and experimentally testable scientific description utilizing pertinent new principles related to the discovery of physics of awareness.

The 'Transcendent Double Selfie' is a visionary, technoetic app devised to capture the image of the user's transcendent double. It is part of the series 'Opener of the Ways, Access Consciousness' which experiments conceptually, aesthetically and experientially with noetic technology utilizing apps and technologies that explore consciousness. This article reflects on the Transcendent Double Selfie app which is inspired by the Kabbalistic traditions of the Golem and Zelem as well as the notions of the double that are prevalent in shamanic traditions. It underlines the integration of ancient spiritual techniques and advanced technologies for the making of twenty-first century technologies of transcendence along with technologically-based and scientifically informed mystical techniques. The app's formulation forges a speculative exploration of consciousness as a non-local phenomenon. In addition, it indicates historical and cultural patterns that reflect the shifting attitudes towards the spirituality of the human body and mind and the experience of transcendence.

El dedicar un libro no es sólo un formalismo literario. Es el deseo genuino y sincero de que a aquellos a quienes se le dedica, sientan la misma y profunda satisfacción de aquél que lo dedica. Este es ya mi estilo personal de presentar mis libros, y éste, mi décimo libro autobiográfico, el cual propone un estudio y análisis cualitativo, dentro de un paradigma educativo con una visión fenomenológica, supongo que de una manera cualitativamente especial, pues es de base educacional, además de formación teológica y científica.

This qualitative research study aims to explore and provide a comprehensive descriptive record of the significant experiences of Pranahuti Aided Meditation (PAM) practice and transformation by eight practitioners from the San Francisco Bay Area. It investigates the linkage between their meditation experiences and transformations to better understand this new phenomenon.

PAM, also known as Sri Ramchandra’s Raja Yoga or Natural Path, is a new spiritual practice invented by Sri Ramchandra of Shajahanpur, U.P., India in the 1940’s. It utilizes the technique of Pranahuti ( Yogic Transmission or Transmission of Life Force i.e. Prana ) to aid individual’s meditation practice and facilitate the process of consciousness transformation. Academic research on PAM has been scant so far. This is the first study using interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA) to systematically explore the experiences of PAM practitioners with 1 to 10 years of practice experience.

The first major finding of this study was that this group of participants experienced a large number of positive non-ordinary states, of which more than 95% occurred during Pranahuti. Some altered states were somatic in nature, and some psychological, noetic, and mystical; still some were particularly exquisite and profound. The first major conclusion that can be drawn from this is Pranahuti resulted in positive non-ordinary states experienced by the participants during meditation.

The second major finding was that participants experienced many positive changes such as acquisition of positive qualities, values and principles, psychological balance, and sense of well-being. They had progressed into what in PAM is known as the realm of upper, or altruistic, consciousness to a significant extent, and most had further development in the realm of divine consciousness. The study found a very close correlation between participants’ meditation experiences and the transformations unfolding in daily lives. The second conclusion to be drawn from this is that PAM practice had enabled all participants move from the lower to the upper plane of consciousness to a significant extent. It also enabled many to move further into the realm of divine consciousness, resulting in various significant transformations including shifting of perspectives, and gaining positive qualities and attitudes in life.

As the subject keywords state, this film is about death, life, and consciousness. By no means are these subjects that are bounded by simple concepts. They are the heaviest of philosophical projects. Any film that seeks to make sense of them in the narrow constraints of documentary narrative, and in a single film, has its work cut out for it.

The article proposes that the modern notion of the spiritual in art, which was theorized at the beginning of the twentieth century, although remains pivotal to the discourse of art and the spiritual, has radically shifted as a result of changing attitudes to the body–mind relations instigated by popular trends of contemporary spiritualities. This cultural tendency is demonstrated by the analysis of the networked art form of Moon Ribas, e.g., dance with earthquakes. Ribas performs a cyborg body and consciousness that, as contended, could be holistically enhanced and develop a unique compassionate awareness. In addition, I reflect on two examples from my performative practice of Networked Rites that interplay with speculative metaphors, spiritual and shamanic techniques, networked aesthetic forms and technologies. The first invokes communitas as a collective, non-local, networked noetic field. The second utilizes a decision-making app as a mediating device between the body and mind for the making of a prototype cyborg noetic field instilled with auspicious resonance. The article mainly implies that spiritual art continues to evolve through technoetic aesthetics fusing emerging technologies, science and shamanic, spiritual insight. Current trends may develop into benevolent and experiential applications based on the interrelations of human and cyborg body and consciousness.

Resumen Este trabajo tiene los siguientes propósitos fundamentales: i) responder a modo de reseña crítica a los planteamientos sobre el objeto de estudio de la ciencia política enunciados en el reciente libro de Rodrigo Losada y Andrés Casas, Enfoques para el análisis político. Historia, epistemología y perspectivas de la ciencia política (2008); ii) hacer un reflexión orientada a captar los reduccionismos existentes en la conceptualización que se hace del objeto de estudio de la ciencia política desde ciertas corrientes contemporáneas, y iii) sugerir la necesidad de ampliar nuestro entendimiento y comprensión de lo que es una realidad política desde el horizonte intelectual fijado por Eric Voegelin, donde se afirma que la ciencia política es una disciplina científica noética centrada sobre el estudio del orden y la experiencia del orden en las sociedades y culturas humanas. El aporte del artículo se refiere a la reconstitución y resignificación de la ciencia política como disciplina científica de carácter noético y a los múltiples campos transdisciplinares que dicha condición posibilita. Palabras clave ciencia política • orden • teoría política • empirismo • ciencia noética • noesis • Eric Voegelin Political Science, the Noetic Science of Order A Critical Look on its "Object" of Study Abstract This work has the following fundamental purposes: i) to respond by way of a critical review to the statements on political science's object of study made by Rodrigo Losada and Andrés Casas in their recently published book Enfoques para el análisis político. Historia, epistemología y perspectivas de la ciencia política (Approaches for Political Analysis. History, Epistemology and Perspectives of Political Science, 2008); ii) to reflect on the theoretical reductionism in the conceptualization of the object of study of political science, present in some contemporary schools of thought, and, iii) to suggest the need to expand our understanding of our political reality from the intellectual perspective proposed by Eric Voegelin, who argued that political science is a noetic scientific discipline centered on the study of order and the experience of order in societies and human cultures. The contribution of the article refers to the reconstitution and resignification of political science as a scientific noetic discipline and to the multiple transdisciplinary fields that such a condition makes possible.

This talk introduces the idea of how research and practice from the fields of networked performance and learning, VR, and cyberception demonstrate that new technologies and methodologies can evolve and improve our involvement with the body-mind, one another, and the environment to transform the narrative of the Anthropocene.

In 2050, the Internet exists everywhere and anywhere one may wish to engage with networks. It has transformed into a cluster of independent webs, consisting of self-regulating and interconnected partially virtual worlds and environments. Initially, this trajectory triggered suspicion and fear. Terrorist attacks, global crime and violence left a devastating legacy. However, at the margins of culture, networks artists, consciousness hackers, cyborg designers and interdisciplinary innovators sought to holistically realign the environment and the human body along with the exploration of consciousness. By 2040s, the design and technology of eco-noetic environments became mainstream, gradually reducing violence towards the environment and catalyzing the emergence of novel, compassionate cultural narratives.

The narrative of violence is evident in Anthropocene. To transform the narrative, the context has to shift. The carbon-neutral format of this online conference is an opportunity to explore an alteration in context. Although face-to-face interaction cannot be replicated, research and practice from the fields of networked performance and learning, VR, and cyberception demonstrate that new technologies and methodologies can evolve and improve our involvement with the body-mind, one another, and the environment. Furthermore, they can induce states of compassion and communitas in participating individuals and groups. These potentials catalyze a different landscape in which distance and proximity, presence and meaning are noetic, i.e., mind-based and compassion-oriented. As a result, we are re-learning to navigate the environment via new types of landscape technology design, and imagine our environments as eco-noetic, i.e., in compassionate symbiosis with our body-mind and nature.

Technoetic Aesthetics of Revelation and Transcendence - The Horse in the Mind

The presentation utilizes the sensibility of technoetic aesthetics in order to demonstrate an interpretive study of imagery issuing from contemporary cultural and technological innovative products and events, such as Blade Runner 2049 and SpaceX Starman, the Tesla Roadster launch. It refers in particular to the theme of horse, horseman, and rider depicted explicitly or implied through aesthetic metaphors. These images seem to conjure current apocalyptic and revelatory meanings as well as amplify a sense of collective longings for transcendence.
Firstly, the term 'technoetic' was coined by the British artist and theorist Roy Ascott, and pertains to combinations of tech and nous, technology and mind. In principle, technoetic aesthetics bypasses the surface image of the world and allows an interpretive creative process that considers the interrelations of technology and mind and their various religious contexts. Hence, it may be relevant to imply that in the mystical traditions of Kabbalah, e.g., Abraham Abulafia and Tikunei haZohar, the horse and rider are both associated with the mind, the capacity of thought, and the Divine Intellect. In a technoetic framework, both the horse and the rider could metaphorically represent the powers of technology and mind, and the new interrelations of artificial, human and divine intelligence.
Secondly, on this technoetic premise, the analysis unfolds the revelatory function of the horse in the mind of K, the protagonist of the post-apocalyptic film Blade Runner 2049, and its aesthetics of transcendence as a product of mind technology. It is followed by a creative reflection on the broadcast of SpaceX Starman and the colour scheme of the 'transcendent rider' in relation to the colours of the four horses in a Judeo-Christian context. Overall, the aesthetics that associate the horse with technology and mind reframe, and may further evolve, the religious imagination and art of revelation and transcendence.
