The technical textiles domain with its classifications into twelve broad segments leaves a great space where Indian industry has the large scope to deliver good results. It can also set an example in the times of turbulences that may occur anytime in today's changing business environment. The global demand for conventional textiles and clothing in which India possessed historically competitive advantages has fallen owing to the stiff competition due to new world economic order as a result of the phasing out of quotas. If we delve deep into the current turmoil in the textiles sector we may comprehend the loose ends that could be fixed with the improved infrastructure, product and market diversification and innovations in the area of technical textiles and investments thereof. It is in this context this paper first describes turbulent times with reference to global slowdown deeply affecting the Indian textiles and clothing industry and then salient features of technical textiles with its growing global as well as the domestic market size. Further, an attempt has been made to underscores the sector specific opportunities and the initiatives being taken by the government, and industry to strengthen the county's inherent competitive advantages in manufacturing and exporting textiles and clothing so that the diversification and innovations in the area of technical textiles may result in quantum leaps in production and export growths and rejuvenate the textiles sector and country may become the world leader in this segment of textiles as well.

New scientific evidence of trade in raw materials and finished goods for the knitted textile trade is emerging from a scientific study of more than 100 extant knitted caps from the 16th century. These long-overlooked archaeological data are being re-excavated from museum archives for analysis in innovative ways and made available for wider study online. The woollen caps are recorded in European collections as having been shipwrecked, deliberately concealed, preserved in peat bogs, or discarded as beyond use in far-flung locations across Europe – as far north as Denmark and as far south as Croatia. This paper reports the fleece’s journey from the sheep’s back to the sixteenth century citizen’s head based on a variety of evidence, including protectionist legislation, microscopic investigation of the materials used, and modern-day craft expertise. Not only the method of knitting but the choice of yarn, spin, ply, and surface treatments such as fulling, napping and shearing have been successfully recreated, together with the specialist equipment required. Campaigns to protect the capping trade across Europe yielded clues to the proto-industrial settings in which the wool was transformed into a functional fulled fabric providing protection against the weather but also emulating the dress of the elite. Experimental archaeological work with comparative and contemporary craftwork has shed light on the processes required to create the mock velvet nap, which made these caps desirable to those prevented from wearing silk by sumptuary law. The use of x-ray micro-computed tomography scanning as part of an interdisciplinary framework of investigation has shown new ways to explore the materials used to knit and finish the caps. These techniques build on pioneering work with fibre analysis in the 1980s, which identified wool but could not determine specific fleece types and more recent studies which differentiated between early sheep breeds. This new evidence explains how the sheep fleece was crucial to the final appearance of the caps in wear. The knitted caps represent an astonishing body of evidence for the manufacture of ordinary men’s clothing and demonstrate the importance of knitting in creating an iconic item of lower-class dress in the Early Modern era.

This study investigates the result of  various knit structure  on various properties of rib fabric. The acrylic yarns were accustomed to make 4×1 rib, 4×4 rib, half cardigan and full cardigan structured fabrics using manual V-bed knitting machine during this analysis work. The consequences of knit structure were measured regarding drape co- efficient percentage, bending length, flexural rigidity and tightness factor. The results disclosed that the fabric properties are greatly influenced by knit structures. 4×4 rib knit structured fabric showed the highest value for all tested properties except drape co-efficient and half cardigan knit structured fabric showed the lowest value. 4×1 rib knit fabric possessed the highest drape co-efficient percentage. The bending length and flexural rigidity was investigated in both wale and course direction. Simultaneously, surface and back sides bending length were also calculated. From the above mentioned data it’s been known that the effect of knit structure on flexural rigidity in both wale and course direction were influenced in a very same chronological way. The highest tightness factor was observed for 4×4 rib structured fabric.

Ergonomics intelligent design system of the volume fitting stretch for design the sport bra style and its simulation remains a major challenge, even if applications are numerous, from rapid mathematical for e-commerce to a stable arithmetical for stretch comfort design cloth of sport bra surfaces. This study compared seven sports bras on quantitative and subjective measures of arithmetical comfort as well as ergonomics of stitchless items for small, medium, and large breasted women during exercise. Representing different cup sizes were filmed while jogging on a treadmill at 6 mph in each bra style and in the nude condition. The average stitchless model of vertical displacement of the breast relative to the body was described mathematically for each condition. Two-way repeated measures of mathematical ergonomics of stitchless model of volume fitting stretch that is aimed for designing a sport bra and subsequent pairwise comparisons indicated significant differences by bra style in subjective mean comfort scores and a significant interaction between subjects' cup sizes and subjective mean support scores. Correlation coefficients between vertical displacement values, subjective measures of support, and subjective measures of comfort indicated that bras, which effectively controlled breast displacement, tended to score lower on comfort design. There were, however, exceptions to this trend, and no single bra rated well on all three measures of performance up the 3D fitting sport bra of woven stretch knitted cloth by using the method developed in this paper. Introduction A sport bra is a bra that provides support to female breasts during physical exercise. Sturdier than typical bras, they minimize breast movement, alleviate discomfort, and reduce potential damage to chest ligaments. Many women wear sports bras to reduce pain, and physical discomfort caused by breast movement during exercise. Some sports bras are designed to be worn as outerwear during exercise such as jogging. Historically, the recorded sizing system that is used for current bra manufacturing was founded in the year 1926, a system that was originally intended to classify breast shapes into analogous types. Warner Brothers [5], in America, incorporated the volume size into the bra size specifications in 1935. This gave birth to the alphabetically notated sizing system for bras and the basic modern bra sizing charts in use today, although manufacturers and bra designers of the different brands use different sizing charts for specific target markets. Consumers find their sizes by trial and error, by trying on bras of different styles, models and brands, until they find a bra that fits well. This is still the most dependable method of finding a bra that fits well, because of the differences noted above, as well as the fact that body measurements used for manufacturing bras are taken manually and are prone to error. Today, many countries still use the metric system whilst others prefer the imperial system to determine the bra under-band size. There are various International Standards Organisations systems, including the European, Japanese and Chinese bra sizing standards, in use today for developing bra-sizing charts. This work will only refer to the comparisons in the metric and imperial systems and the conclusions as drawn and reported by Zheng et al. [18] as these are the most popular bra sizing systems in use today.

While the structure design and behavior of yarn (warp-weft) creation of shapes and images is relatively easy, accurate control of color/ weave rendering of intimately blended pre-colored yarns is a critical and difficult to control attribute. An aim of this paper is to propose rough set theory applied the concept of compact force to. For flexibi lity, geometry shape objects described compact force for stretch clothes design often consists of complex objects the current progress in developing models combining colors/weaves and geometry of multi -layer woven structure design and compact force behavior of yarn, thereby reducing or even eliminating the need for physical sampling prior to production.
