Hydrogenation Process

— This paper presented here is study about jet loop reactor technology for hydrogenation amination alkylation. A Jet Loop Reactor consists of a reaction autoclave, a circulation pump, a heat exchanger, a venturi type ejector similar to Stirred Tank Reactor but is arranged in a completely different way. Jet Loop Reactor gives excellent performance on a faster reaction scheme in the fully saturated hydrogenation process in palm oil refinery.

The process for methanol synthesis using captured CO 2 was shown by a system engineering analysis based on planetary boundaries. Today, the large-scale commercial production of methanol is mainly from syngas (a CO and H 2 mixture), which are generated by fossil resources (mainly coal and natural gas) via processes including the gasification of coal as well as the steam reforming of natural gas. Small amounts of CO 2 (about 2-8%) are typically added to the CO/H 2 stream to balance the H/C ratio to the desired stoichiometry and to accelerate the reaction rate. Methanol formation: (1) CO + 2H 2 = CH 3 OH, ΔH 298K = ̶ 90.6 kJ mol¯1; (2) CO 2 + 3H 2 = CH 3 OH + H 2 O, ΔH 298K = ̶ 49.5 kJ mol¯1; Reverse water-gas-shift reaction (RWGS): (3) CO 2 + H 2 = CO + H 2 O, ΔH 298K = ̶ 41.2 kJ mol¯1.
