Objectives: US consumers spend more than $20 billion/year on overthe-counter (OTC) drugs. Although generic and brand name OTC drugs share the same active ingredients and undergo the same rigorous Food and Drug Administration approval process, brand name formulations continue to lead the OTC drug market with a higher market share. There is a limited amount of publicly available information regarding consumer perceptions and awareness about generic and brand name OTC drugs. The main objective of this research was to understand what factors influence US consumers to purchase generic versus brand name OTC drugs.

Basavaraj Naikar is a reputed bilingual writer whose works have received wide acclaim in India and abroad. For his overall contribution to literature he has received D. Litt., from the International University of California (USA). His talent is marked by a fusion of critical insight and creative passion. A Dreamer of Freedom is a product of this fusion. The subtitle of the play defines the category and theme of the book: It is a "historical play about 1857 Indian war of Independence". Moreover the inspiration behind writing this play is described by Professor Naikar in the 'Preface':The special reason for my writing this play happens to be the political connection of my own ancestors with Bhaskararao Bhave's rule in Naragund. My great grandfather Virabhadranayaka was one of the army officers of Naragund and a confidant of Babasaheb. He fought heroically in the war with the British and lay down his life for his master. As a young boy I was inspired by my parent's narration of the heroic feats of Babasaheb as well as of Virabhadranayaka. The theme of the play was kept alive in my mind for the past thirty years. I made a systematic study of the topic by reading the major recorded material in print and tried to reconstruct the history of the colonial encounter in a realistic manner without resorting to sentimentalism or glorification. Instead of relapsing into the simplistic prose narrative in the third person and traditional historiographic methods, Naikar has tried to blend fact and fiction by foregrounding the historical information in the generic configuration of production of a play.

What if cities are not connected in space and time? You easily can talk to them. Just by taking a phone for example. But they are species in parallel universes. Nearly every single point in our planet has become reachable within a few touches. A capability that some centuries ago was an exclusive privilege of emperors, popes and kings. Just imagine, today, any of us has more access to information than emperor Augustus back in roman times or the president of the United States of America 20 years ago. What does this decentralization of information entail in the way we engender and understand the city? What to do when we could potentially do anything? This course will explore the role of computational power and information technologies in the creation of our imaginaries around the city. We will show you how models and theories, emerging mainly during the 19th and 20th centuries, present leaping correspondences with more ancient conceptions of the city, when observed from an informational perspective. We will establish a refreshing dialogue in times where we seem to be overwhelmed by the wide range of possibilities that technology and the abundance of information are opening up. We are bored by the overused debates around urbanization as a threat, energy crisis, climate change, smart cities: the same problematic is elucidated, no matter which city you are looking at. Instead, we will explore the possibilities that the digital has to offer to us, the world citizens. Such transformations have taken place since the very inception of cities, and this is why we are convinced that each era—including our own—has to reinvent its City within its corresponding cultural galaxies.

Inspired by Tschumi’s famous realization in the Parc de la Villette, the Authors explore the concept of cellular automata (CA), applied in architectural and urban design. The theoretical approach to the problem of cellular automata considers works of Krawczyk, Coates and other authors proposing various ways of using cellular automata in the design process, particularly in architectural design. The experimental activity is realized by the CA module of the software Fun3D which has been created to support generative processes in architectural design. The CA module of the software allows certain level of redesign of a basically cubic cell and other elements of a CA system, as well as combination of multiple cellular systems. A series of “follies ” has been created in a design experiment with senior architecture students. Abstract: In this project my aim is to develop a central monitoring and control system for the multiple Greenhouses. This can be managed from one central location wirelessly using GSM module. No expert person presence is required when new Crop set points needs to set. Simply user from remote location can select the crop from system database and all related set point would be selected from the system database and sent through GSM to the selected Greenhouse. Hence we are removing the dependency of expert. Multiple crops set point like temperature, humidity, sunlight, etc. suitable for the particular crop can be set from the central unit and sent to controller through GSM module. Another interesting point in my project is that it has a generic architecture which can be applied for many other small/medium automation applications.

To meet university proclamations, academic staff are required to include graduate attributes in student learning. The approach adopted in this first year agricultural science course was to utilise problem-based learning to develop discipline knowledge and graduate attributes in a seamless manner. Rather than giving the students a questionnaire with options for students to indicate what graduate attribute they had learned, a structured learning journal was used to question students about their learning without specifically asking about any graduate attributes. Analysis of the learning journals revealed that significant numbers of students perceived that they had learned or practiced a range of graduate attributes, including teamwork, research, social responsibility, personal attributes, writing abilities, time management, problem solving, leadership, and multidisciplinary skills. These student perceptions exceeded the teachers’ expectations and revealed that problem-based learning in teams can be used for learning discipline knowledge and developing graduate attributes.

In this paper, we propose a generic and e cient contentbased image retrieval architecture. We compute "real" interimage distances for an initial subset of the images that are to be stored into an image database. For computing real interimage distances we use image content based on a low level feature. High-level image feature vectors are computed from the real interimage distances in such a w ay that the interimage distances are preserved in the feature space de ned by the high-level features. These feature vectors are used to represent the images in the initial subset as well as to generate a training set. This training set is used to compute the feature vector of a query image during image retrieval and for deriving the feature vectors for images not in the initial subset. On-line retrieval is performed using the distances of the feature vector of the query image to feature vectors of the database images as estimates of the corresponding real distances. We have conducted experiments using color as the low level feature. Our results show a substantial reduction in the size of the feature space, which leads to highly e cient on-line retrieval. We also demonstrate that a high retrieval accuracy is achieved.
