Deciphering

This short communication is aimed at popularizing the puzzle of the undeciphered inscription engraved on a wall of the Baptistery of Pisa (Tuscany, Italy), which appears also in other religious monuments in Tuscany. The inscription is written in an unknown script and, being very short and without other examples with the same symbols all over the world (apart from some equivalent epigraphic documents from the same area), is still undeciphered. The goal of the following note, which absolutely does not aim to be original, and which is just recapitulative, is to trigger a discussion about the inscription and to encourage possible interpretations and, ultimately, new deciphering attempts.

The PETRAE epigraphic database developed at the Ausonius Institute in Bordeaux has more than 30 years of history in its different versions. From the very beginning, its purpose was to furnish the most complete epigraphic records providing all available data. Currently it integrates new tools, along with the evolution of new technologies applied to humanities, and more and more data. Moreover it reuses ontologies, within the Linked Open Data context, in order to link metadata with resources from other projects. In this context, we present in this contribution the genesis and the process having led to the integration of 3D models of the inscription in the PETRAE records. Among the many solutions, we chose to set up a 3D viewer linked to our practices and allowing long-term data storage.

The rapid proliferation of wireless networks and mobile computing applications has changed the landscape of network security. The recent denial of service attacks on major Internet sites have shown us, that no open computer network is immune from intrusions. The wireless ad-hoc network is particularly vulnerable due to its features of open medium, dynamic changing topology, cooperative algorithms, lack of centralized monitoring and management point, and lack of a clear line of defense. The traditional way of protecting networks with firewalls and encryption software is no longer sufficient and effective. The goal of this paper is to present a framework to help managers understand the various threats associated with the use of wireless technology, disadvantages and threats of the wireless security protocols. WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) and RSN (Robust Security Network) Security protocols are examined in this respect. Then they are compared via the common features in order to give some insight to those who work with WLANs. I hope this paper give boost to the IT security personnel and clarify the common questions of the nonspecialist reader.

One of the distinctive manifestations of odes at Age of is Jahelid is depiction and description of ridding animal for the Jahelid Arabic man in general and camel in particular, that is friend, attendant and associate for the poet and apparently by allusive borrowing from limbs of symbolic animals like zebra, ox and ostrich etc he/ she has sparsely illustrated it. Unlike the technique adapted by prior critics and some of contemporary orators, this paper is intended to interpret variously seemingly- diffusive descriptions from Jahelid Arabic poet from his/ her ridding animal in order to reveal depth of links among concepts and their different themes by analysis based on symbolic deciphering and decoding and such symbolic elements to be embodied within a mythical nature. Accordingly, it does not seem probable that in Jahelid ode, camel to be symbol of an ideal poet or human that was linked to camel and it is symbol of power, agility, wisedome, keenness, prudence, sense of responsibility, rigidness and stability etc
