Twelve species and 9 genera of parthenopid crabs are here recorded from Taiwan, of which six are new records, viz. Aethra scruposa (Linnaeus, 1764), Aulacolambrus revibrachiatus (Shen, Dai and Chen, 1982), Aulacolambrus hoplonotus (Adams and White, 1848), Garthambrus stellata (Rathbun, 1906), Heterocrypta transitans Ortmann, 1893 and Rhinolambrus contrarius (Herbst, 1804). Of these, the presence of G. stellata is interesting as the species was previously known from Hawaii and French Polynesia. Taxonomic problems associated with several species are clarified, and the value of the male 1st gonopods as taxonomic characters is discussed.

hot spot. It is the only place in Bangladesh where coral colonies are found. At the same time St.
Martin’s Island also has an important ecological value as one of the few remaining nesting places in
the region for several species of globally threatened marine turtles, as well as being a wintering site
for migratory birds. There are also commercial important seaweed and oyster and shell.

Ketersediaan benih kepiting bakau asal pembenihan (hatcheri) masih sangat terbatas karena rata-rata tingkat kelulusan hidup yang diperoleh masih rendah untuk mencapai ukuran krablet (kepiting muda). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis pakan tambahan terhadap sintasan dan pertumbuhan larva kepiting bakau (Scylla serrata) fase megalopa ke krablet. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan, yaitu perlakuan A (larva hanya diberi naupli artemia sebagai kontrol), perlakuan B (naupli artemia + pakan buatan untuk larva udang fase PL 2-5), perlakuan C (naupli artemia + ebi), dan perlakuan D (naupli artemia + pakan udang komersil). Wadah pemeliharaan menggunakan akuarium berbentuk persegi panjang dengan ukuran panjang 50 cm, lebar 30 cm dan tinggi 40 cm disi air setinggi 30 cm atau sekitar 40-45 liter/akuarium. Larva yang ditebar sebanyak 20 ekor/akuarium (+133 ek/m2) yang terdiri dari 15 ekor larva yang telah memasuki fase megalopa (2-3 hari) dan 5 ekor larva fase zoea 5. Masa pemeliharaan berlangsung selama 14 hari dimana krablet berumur sekitar 7-9 hari (D7-D9). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan beberapa jenis pakan tambahan sebagai pendamping pakan artemia pada pemeliharaan larva kepiting bakau (Scylla serrata) fase megalopa ke krablet (D7-D9) tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05) terhadap sintasan, bobot individu, panjang dan lebar karapaks.

Kualitas pakan alami larva kepiting bakau, Scylla serrata dapat ditingkatkan dengan pengayaan terlebih dahulu sebelum diberikan ke larva. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui jenis pengkaya terbaik untuk nauplius Artemia yang dijadikan pakan larva kepiting bakau stadia zoea-3 hingga stadia megalopa dengan indikasi terjadi peningkatan rasio DHA/EPA, vitalitas larva meningkat, produksi krablet menjadi lebih banyak. Larva yang baru menetas dan sehat dipelihara di 12 unit bak fiber kerucut volume 250 L diisi air laut steril sebanyak 200 L masing-masing dengan padat tebar 100 ind./L. Larva diberi pakan rotifer dan nauplius Artemia yang sudah diperkaya dengan HUFA. Selain itu, nauplius artemia juga dikayakan dengan beberapa jenis pengaya lainnya sebagai perlakuan yaitu a). nauplius Artemia tidak diperkaya dengan jenis pengaya lainnya, b). nauplius Artemia diperkaya dengan Nannochloropsis sp., c). nauplius Artemia diperkaya dengan vitamin C, dan d). nauplius Artemia diperkaya dengan Nannochloropsissp. dan vitamin C. Masing-masing perlakuan dengan tiga kali ulangan. Monitoring dilakukan pada rasio DHA/EPA pada naupliusArtemia yang diperkaya dengan jenis pengkaya berbeda, perkembangan dan populasi larva, kualitas air, populasi Vibrio sp., total hemosit dan produksi krablet dari setiap perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rasio DHA/EPA pada nauplius artemia yang diperkaya dengan Nannochloropsis sp. adalah tertinggi dibandingkan dengan jenis pengkaya lainnya. Nilai Indeks Perkembangan Larva yang tertinggi adalah di perlakuan B (4,91) disusul oleh larva di perlakuan C (4,85), kemudian larva di perlakuan A dan D masing-masing dengan (4,58). Jumlah krablet D-10 terbanyak di perlakuan B (109,5 ± 36,1 ekor), disusul perlakuan C (82,0 ± 26,9 ekor), keduanya tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) tetapi keduanya berbeda nyata dengan produksi krablet di perlakuan D (33 ± 21,21 ekor) dan perlakuan A (27,5 ± 12,02 ekor). Produksi krablet tertinggi di perlakuan B tersebut didukung dengan jumlah sel haemosit tertinggi pada larva zoea-5 di perlakuan B.

The The purpose of study was to evaluate the influence of hairline crack eggs on hatchery parameters and later life of chicks. The study was conducted from October to December 2018 at Chakri hatchery Salman Poultry Pvt. Ltd Pakistan to evaluate the outcomes of hairline crack eggs. The shell of the eggs is essential in providing the shape of an egg and ensuring the safe packaging. The defects like breakage of this packaging increase the risk of microbial contamination. In this experiment, the crack eggs like hairline crack eggs were detected by Sanovo STAALKAT Alpha 125 Machine number JB 11786. The eggs were collected from eighteen different breeder farms. Each group contained (n= 50,000) eggs. The hairline crack eggs were compared with normal eggs for hatchability, candling, putrification/blasting and dead in shell. Significant difference was found for hatchability, candling, blasting/putrification and dead in the shell for normal and hairline crack eggs. The highest hatchability (49.07 ± 0.51b) and lowest candling (9.98 ± 0.064a) for hairline crack eggs were found for AP27 due to young age and good quality eggshell. The lowest hatchability was found for SP117 which is the oldest flock having thin egg shells. The blasting/putrification and dead in the shell were significantly higher for hairline crack eggs as compared normal eggs of same flocks. The highest blasting of hairline crack eggs was found for SSF6 f, SSF1. The dead in the shell was found highest for SSF6; SSF1 for the hairline crack eggs while lowest blasting was found for AP27 due to young age with good quality eggshell. On simple hatch debris analysis, the highest 1stweek mortality, infertile, contaminated eggs and 3rd week mortality were found for hairline crack eggs as compared to normal eggs for SSF5 flock. The water loss, chick yield and culling chicks percentage were also significantly better for normal eggs compared to hairline crack eggs. The hairline crack eggs of young flocks were better than old flocks due to a better quality of eggs shell. The chicks from normal eggs were also significantly better than chicks from hairline crack eggs in terms of mortality, feed intake, weight gain and FCR. The hairline crack eggs are the source of contamination. Such kinds of eggs should not be used for incubation.
