The advent of Western imperial colonization changed African society in many ways. The impact of colonialism on Africa in general on one hand; and Western culture and civilizations (and the Christian religion which influenced them) on African society and cultural institutions on the other hand, has rightly attracted the interest and attention of many scholars in the last fifty years.

The peripatetic nature of the artist Robert Rauschenberg’s process has been acknowledged from nearly the beginning of his critical reception. This is partly due to his own writings on his work, which force the issue of his responsiveness to life beyond the studio and to a self-conscious mapping of the spaces in his work. In a brief statement published in Print in 1959, Rauschenberg said of his use of newsprint that, “I began using newsprint in my work to activate a ground so that even the first strokes in a painting had its own unique position in a gray map of words.” In his application of newsprint, Rauschenberg counters the manmade wordscape of street signs and billboards that existed outside his studio window with a canvas prepared with a readymade “medium” of words. It is the term “map,” though, that has become a touchstone for considering Rauschenberg’s work, most famously in art historian Leo Steinberg’s 1972 essay “Reflections on the State of Criticism.” In designating Rauschenberg’s work as exhibiting the characteristics of the flatbed picture plane, Steinberg uses the artist’s own “gray map of words” to identify Rauschenberg’s “picture plane [as] a surface to which anything reachable-thinkable would adhere. It had to be whatever a billboard or dashboard is, and everything a projection screen is, with further affinities for anything that is flat and worked over – palimpsest, canceled plate, printer’s proof, trial blank, chart, map, aerial view.” If, pace Steinberg, Rauschenberg’s works are maps to be worked over, then they are navigable planes as well, and navigation by them can take place in the gap Rauschenberg identified between art and life.
In considering what navigation by Combine might look like, an application of the directional tools included within the works themselves – their inter-imagery – is sometimes necessary. Rauschenberg’s work is provoking because it alludes to and includes imagers and implications beyond the picture plane, and yet often frustrates coherent readings by including seemingly errant elements that return an attempt to find a deeper meaning back to the surface. Navigation by Combine is rife with potential dead ends. While bearing this in mind, I propose to undertake an examination of several of those works by Rauschenberg that include navigational components, be they arrows, signs, or a photographic guide, which conduct the viewer’s eye through and around the aspects of the works. Other images within the compositions, however, respond as the living city would to prevent straightforward progress through the structures and, indeed, to prompt us to question the assumption that “progress” must be made at all.

The globalize world that we live in has experience an increased demand for all sorts of products, from exotic food to the ultimate scientific and technological developments. Anything we want is at our fingerprints, but we cannot deal with everything since the beginning: most of the products we can achieve need to be properly adapted to the target country, region or culture that is going to take advantage of it.
One of these products that need to be adapted for foreign consumption is TV series. Focusing on our country, we have experience an increased demand for foreign TV series, especially those coming from the UK and EE.UU. As a result, there has been an increased demand for both translators and dubbing actors in charge of translating and adapting American and British series so that anyone can have access to them in Spain. The problem is that translators in charge of the translation of these series are not equally prepared for this task, and so the results are not always good enough.
The aim of this work is to analyze the dubbing errors committed in the translation of the TV series Arrow (2012- ), specifically focusing on the dubbing errors committed in this series’ pilot.

The problem of embedding incomplete into complete rela- tions has been an important topic of research in the context of crisp relations and their applications. Several variations of the acclaimed Szpilrajn’s theorem have been provided, inclusive of the case when some order conditions between elements are imposed on the extension. We extend the analysis of that topic by Alcantud to the fuzzy case. By appealing to generators to decompose (fuzzy) preference relations into strict preference and indifference relations, we give general extension results for the corresponding concept of compatible extension of a fuzzy reflexive relation. Then we investigate the conditions under which compatible order extensions exist such that certain elements are connected by the asymmetric part, resp., and certain other elements by the symmetric part, to respective elements with degree 1.

Resumen El debate del ambiental dejó de ser enmarcado como un acto blando de las exigencias sociales o como un proyecto de estudio que en el futuro deberá tener respuesta desde la institucionalidad y el desarrollo tecnológico. El ambiente se ha convertido en un parámetro transversal de eficiencia que cada área social debe cumplir para lograr satisfacer sus objetivos, concibiéndose de tal forma sus principios de protección y recomposición como el camino adecuado para poder hacer de las metas un hecho satisfactorio. De esta manera, el derecho y la economía han sido las áreas que menos han sido ajenas a esta realidad, transformándose continuamente para lograr satisfacer este paradigma en construcción y así lograr acercarse a un cumplimiento integral se su objeto de creación, la armonía social en un ambiente de intercambio mundial y condiciones de escases de recursos. Es necesario en tal sentido abordar que construcciones del modelo económico y jurídico entran en contradicción frente a los planteamientos ambientales, para así profundizar en el objetivo concreto que se persigue tras las estructuras en formación del derecho ambiental y finalmente visualizar las posibles soluciones a este reto de transformación social.

Given a postulated set of points, an algebraic system of axioms is proposed for an "arrow space'". An arrow is defined to be an ordered set of two points , named respectively Tail and Head. The set of arrows is an arrow space. The arrow space is axiomatically endowed with an arrow space "pre-inner product" which is analogous to the inner product of a Euclidean vector space. Using this arrow space pre-inner product, various properties of the arrow space are derived and contrasted with the properties of a Euclidean vector space. The axioms of a vector space and its associated inner product are derived as theorems that follow from the axioms of an arrow space since vectors are rigorously shown to be equivalence classes of arrows. Applications of using an arrow space to solve geometric problems in affine geometry are provided.
