Gatherings in Biosemiotics will be held from 31 July to 4 August 2023 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Gatherings in Biosemiotics 2023 – Call for Papers 31 July to 4 August 2023 Copenhagen, Denmark Homepage: https://www.biosemiotics.org/2023/02/23/cfp-gatherings-in-biosemiotics-2023/ We are pleased to announce that this year’s Gatherings, 31 July to 4 August 2023, will be held in the same room and building that the inaugural Gatherings in Biosemiotics was held in 2001: Auditorium 1 in what is now the University of Copenhagen’s Social Sciences Faculty Library, Gothersgade 140, Copenhagen 1123. We particularly welcome conference presentations in the following research areas: · Applications of Jesper Hoffmeyer's work · Biosemiotic approaches to biology · The implications of biosemiotics to philosophy and the humanities · History and epistemology of biosemiotics · Semiotic approaches in theoretical biology · Evolution and ontogeny of semiotic mechanisms · Modelling of semiosis and semiotic networks · Endosemiotics · Interspecies semiosis · Experimental biosemiotics · Ecosemiotics · Biosemiotics of health and disease · Umwelt studies and phenomenology · Cultural implications of biosemiotics Abstracts should be 300–600 words, with your full name, email address and affiliation below the title, and submitted in the doc, docx, rtf, or odt formats (please do not send PDFs), with a maximum of three references permitted. Please filename the document with your surname in capital letters, for example: SEBEOK.doc. All abstracts should be submitted online at https://www.biosemiotics.org/gibs23_submission/ no later than 20 March 2023. The tentative notification of acceptance date will be 8 May 2023.
