A Christian should NEVER be drunk and should know, but never experience his limits. The Bible describes 'too much' with terms such as 'becoming drunk', 'excess / riotous' (Strong's G810), 'filling ourselves', 'indulging', 'staggering', 'trembling'. S A Y A B O U T . . . Strong's H7941 , shêkâr, From H7937; an intoxicant, that is, intensely alcoholic liquor: strong drink, + drunkard, strong wine. And he drank some of the wine and became drunk, and he exposed himself in the midst of his tent. Some churches do extend this rule to an overall prohibition of alcohol for their leaders, but this is adding to the Bible what is not stipulated by God.
