This paper reviews the book "Sociology of Education" (Browne and Foster, editors). The paper begins with the observation that the study of the sociology of education is an important part of teacher training, but is often forgotten after graduation in the first yean of classroom experience. Problems which impede the incorporation of educational sociology into teacher preparation and development are sketched, after which the book is reviewed under the heading of: (I) effects of education; (2) the role of sociology of education; (3) limitations of conservative sociology; (4) status equality in the "old" sociology of education; (5) the transition from "old" to "new" sociology; (6) problems of the "new" sociology of education; (7) policy implications; (8) the need for a theory of education; (9) public and private schooling; and (10) sexism in education. The review also examines areas in this field which are not covered in the book. (CB)

Date 23 rd August 2021 Analysis of the Major Perspectives of Sociology Sociology is a vital aspect in studying human life; the scholars in this field stipulate three major ideas, notably, Symbolic interactionism, Functionalism, and Conflict theory of sociology. This paper analyses the social theories as an imperative aspect in solving problems posed by poverty. Structural functionality explains that parts of society largely contribute in some ways to another. Furthermore, poverty is viewed as a problem and an indispensable part of a community.
Every Organisation that employs people come from a diverse background for a common purpose of fulfilling the goals of the organisation and also commit themselves to work towards achieving the objectives of the organisation. This paper reviews the studies conducted to establish the relationship between Employee Attitude and their Commitment towards the Organisation in meeting the requirements and following their policies and principles. The objectives of the paper is to understand the relationship between Employee Attitudes and Commitment towards the organisation and to find out if there is any significant impact of employee attitude towards their commitment to the organisation leading to increased loyalty. The paper also tries find out whether the employees' attitudes leads to job satisfaction which will result in organisational commitment. The reviews of various researches clearly indicate that organisational commitment is the outcome of employees' attitudes which has led to job satisfaction. A satisfied employee remains in the firm even if he has to face challenges like no rise in the pay, not so comfortable working environment or no high position in the organisation. It is not only the remuneration and perquisites that make an employee committed to the organisation, but also the attitudes that determine the commitment towards the organisation.
