Lead: Science fiction is a genre that aspires to predict the human future through the lens of foreseeable technological progress. Few realize that this genre emerged from the tragic experience of Poland-Lithuania's Jewish community during the dark 20 th century. Ashkenazic Jewry between Poland-Lithuania, Russia and the US In the early modern period, the majority of the world's Jews lived in the Commonwealth of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. This now forgotten realm extended from what today is Latvia and southern Estonia in the north to present-day Moldova in the south and from central Poland in the west to eastern Ukraine in the east. In English the polity is known under the shorthand name of Poland-Lithuania, while in most post-Polish-Lithuanian polities it is dubbed the 'Commonwealth' or Rech Pospolita in Slavic. The only exception is Poland, where the Commonwealth is claimed exclusively for the current Polish national master narrative under the anachronistic designation of (the pre-partition) Poland. In the late 18 th century, Russia-alongside the post-Polish-Lithuanian polity of Prussia and with the Habsburgs' participation-partitioned Poland-Lithuania. The Commonwealth was erased from the political map of Europe. The lines of division changed during the Napoleonic wars before stabilizing in the wake of the Congress of Vienna (1815). As a result, Russia effectively annexed over four-fifths of the Polish-Lithuanian territory.

El autor presenta la teologia del pluralismo Religioso (TPR), y dentro de ella el paradigma pluralista (contradistinguido del exclusivista y del inclusivista), como la nueva frontera que la teologia de la liberacion (TL) debe afrontar, dado que la TL clasica fue elaborada bajo el paradigma inclusivista, absolutamente dominante en aquella su epoca fundacional. El cambio de paradigma, del inclusivismo al pluralismo, implica una mutacion muy profunda; va a hacer surgir una nueva TL, como esta haciendo aparecer una reinterpretacion de elementos centrales del cristianismo. Implica abandonar «el mito de la superioridad religiosa», y toda la antigua forma de creer y de situarse en el concierto de las religiones propia del exclusivismo y del inclusivismo que lo continua. El autor se detiene describiendo con detalle esa nueva forma de entender el cristianismo, por cuya senda desafia a entrar a la TL.

DONDE MENOS TE LO ESPERAS. El nacionalismo banal español, 2023

La recepción de la tesis desarrollada por Michael Billig en su libro Banal Nationalism (1995) se ha encontrado con bastantes obstáculos en España, muchos de los cuales tienen que ver con el marco nacionalista dominante, que es precisamente lo que centra la atención del estudioso británico. Esto se nota especialmente en el debate público desarrollado en los medios de comunicación, en el que lo normal es entender que en España no hay más nacionalismo que el vasco, el catalán o el gallego, no pudiendo hablarse de un nacionalismo propiamente español más que en referencia a la extrema derecha, o bien al pasado franquista. Pero también el debate académico se ha visto afectado por el problema diagnosticado por Billig, algo que puede verse en las dificultades que todavía hay a nivel científico para entender cuestiones tan elementales como lo que implica para un nacionalismo el ser banal, sobre todo en contextos conflictivos, como el español, o para los ciudadanos el tener identidad nacional. Este libro busca enfrentar ambos problemas y aportar algo de luz a un debate dominado por un nacionalismo que muy a menudo pasa desapercibido. Todo ello asumiendo el perfil provocador que pueda verse en ese intento, tratando de estirar al máximo la lógica del nacionalismo banal con el objetivo de encontrarlo donde menos uno se lo podía esperar. The presence of a very-high-voltage (VHV) electricity transmission line nearby a metallic pipeline can be a source of dangerous effects for this pipeline due to the electromagnetic field generated by this power line, it can induce a considerable voltage which may threaten the safety of operating personnel and the integrity of the pipeline. The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the electromagnetic coupling effect in a buried metallic pipeline located in close proximity to a very-high-voltage (VHV) overhead transmission line using the Faraday's law and nodal network analysis under steady state conditions, as well as to estimate the possibility of AC induced corrosion of the metallic pipeline. The obtained results show that the induced voltage on the metallic pipeline exceeds the maximum threshold value recommended by the international regulations CENELEC and NACE, the AC corrosion current density surpasses the allowable value indicated by the specialized majority of corrosion studies. Therefore, a mitigation technique based on a pipeline grounding system is proposed to reduce the voltage induced on the pipeline to safe limits, in order to remedy the hazardous potential effects. The adopted mitigation technique has achieved better efficiency by reducing the induced voltage well below the safety limit.
