Turkey has recently changed the English language teaching (ELT) program for primary schools. The new changes required an earlier start for language learning, which are promising in terms of the importance given to foreign language teaching. However, the implementation of these changes requires readiness on the part of the teachers and preparation for the universities to compensate for the pre-and in-service training needs. Involvement of teacher trainers and teachers in the language teaching process is important for a successful implementation of a language policy. Thus, this study aims to investigate the teacher trainers' views about the starting age for L2 learning, and the appropriate methodology for teaching English to young learners. A survey-type data collection method was used. 72 EFL teacher trainers from seven different public and private universities contributed to the study. The results revealed that EFL teacher trainers prefer language education to start at the first stage of primary school and even earlier during pre-school, which are in line with the recent changes in the curriculum. The trainers emphasized the importance of appropriate methodology and assessment techniques that are in accordance with the cognitive, emotional, and physical development of children.

Therefore, there must be challenges that Foreign Language teachers face in classroom. The aim of this research is to investigate an English teacher in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to junior high school students at Ma'had Tahfidzul Qur'an, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The matters to be investigated include barriers the teacher faced as well as her strategies to solve the problems. The researcher used qualitative method for this study and conducted interview for the English teacher to reveal the findings. The result of semi-structured interview showed that the biggest challenge faced by the English teacher is the condition where the students are less-motivated in learning English. Several strategies are used by the teacher such as encouraging the students through verbal motivation as well as providing joyful activities such as conducting different kind of games to build positive mood and interest of students in leaning a new language. The use of proper teaching strategies is demanded in order to have English learning become students' habit. Therefore, implication of language teaching methodologies is also discussed in this research.

The data, which were collected by using a classroom observation and interview with the teachers and their students, were analyzed qualitatively by using categories formulated based on theories related to instructional strategies include planning and preparing the instruction, implementing the teaching and learning process, and assessing the students' achievement. The major findings of this study include 1) although the teachers do the same stages in planning but the plan is implemented and resulted in different ways; 2) the teachers are able to use games as a tool for learning; 3) although curriculum requires teachers to integrate the skills (reading, listening, writing, and speaking), in actual implementation, the teachers do not teach English in integrative ways; 4) time management in this school has become a problematic factor for the teachers; 5) with respect to teacher's strategies in assessing students' achievement, the teachers do assessment by way of remedial teaching once a week after the class is over in part where the students failed to understand. To educate 21st century young learners, a teacher is demanded to have balanced knowledge in both theory and practice. Focusing on EFL, regardless whether English is taught as a compulsory or local subject, primary school students need introductory concept of English covering several skills and components. To encourage the students’ English mastery, the teacher indeed becomes the center point of the class. The success in achieving the competencies depends on how creative and innovative the instructors are. However, Indonesian pre-service teachers seem to have obstacles in learning and preparing sound English instruction. Various factors contribute to their competence including the fact that English teaching is not their primary goal. Thus, this article aimed to reveal potential challenges appeared to the college students in the English Learning for Primary School class and propose several strategies to enhance their English performance. To get the data, descriptive qualitative method was applied with interview and questionnaire as the main instruments. The results showed that pre-service primary school teachers in Indonesian context believed that teaching English faced prospective challenges identified from five categories. Furthermore, to cope with those difficulties, they have several strategies to conduct focusing on three aspects: media development, plenty of fun activities, and a technology literate teacher. In short, the earlier pre-service primary school teachers get a lot of ELT illustration and treatment, the more ready they will undergo English teaching. This is considered significant to discuss, especially for the teacher candidates to build and develop their professionalism in teaching English for young learners. This research is qualitatively descriptive, intending to define the efforts of English teachers at Boarding school and hereinafter referred to as Pesantren (al-Fatah) to develop students’ English language proficiency. Subjects of this study are two English teachers and Students at Pesantren al-Falah. This study also investigates the way of English teaching methods or strategies in the classroom. There are two main instruments to collect data, those are Observation and interview guidelines. The result of the study indicates that the most teaching methods used are still a teacher-centered, direct method and habituation. This is due to the influence of the traditional Arabic learning model which is still largely focused on what is conveyed by the teacher in the classroom. But this Pesantren also implemented a communicative approach to develop the speaking skill of the students. THE CHARACTER OF JADWIGA OF ANJOU IN LIGHT OF POLAND’S CONTACTS WITH THE HOLY SEE IN THE PERIOD OF THE GREAT WESTERN SCHISM IN 1388/9–1399, in: TRZY KOBIETY — TRZY DROGI. PATRIOTYZM JAKO MISJA UNIWERSYTETU, red. K. Cymanow-Sosin, Ł. Piórkowski, Kraków 2024, pp. 31-53., 2024
The author attempts to outline the personal qualities of Queen Jadwiga in light of the relations between Poland and the Holy See in the era of the Great Western Schism. To this end, the queen's correspondence with Urban VI and Boniface IX in the years 1388/9 to 1399 was analyzed. The analysed period coincided with the time when the queen had come of age, and the dispute concerning the validity of her marriage to Jagiełło, despite her previous relationship (sponsalia de futuro) with William the Courteous, was no longer of particular significance. The article analyses papal letters, as well as analysed period coincided with the letters concerning e.g. the abuse of authority by pontifical officials, the great jubilee in Krakow, the appointments of the bishops of Krakow in 1392 and the birth of her child in 1399. Urban VI and Boniface IX were afraid of a change in Poland's allegiance during the schism; therefore, they tried not to strain the relations with Jadwiga and Jagiełło. The queen made excellent political use of such fears, fully liaising with her husband in the state's policy towards the Church. On the one hand, she remained faithful and loyal to the Roman pontiffs; on the other hand, always siding with her husband in matters of importance, she did not accept any excessive interference of the Holy See into Poland's internal affairs.
