This research presents an overview of tidal energy, emphasizing its generation methods and potential applications in Bangladesh. It discusses the significance of tidal energy due to the gravitational effects of the moon and sun, outlines the types of tidal power plants, and highlights the recent ocean gains by Bangladesh which provide substantial opportunities for harnessing this renewable energy source. Various methods for generating tidal power are explored, including tidal stream generators, barrages, lagoons, and dynamic tidal power systems.

From the beginning, fossil fuel (Gas, Coal, Oil etc.) is being mainly used to generate electricity. But it is not far off days that fossil fuel would be a story or museum article. So, in futurepower crisis will be a common problem all over the world. Bangladesh is not out of it. To solve this problem government is trying to find alternative way and other different policies. These policies meet up power crisis temporarily, but not permanently. So our government is looking up to the alternative source like renewable energy. Renewable energies are solar, wind, tidal, geothermal etc. Among these tidal wave is more predictable. The tide closely follows the moon during its rotation around the earth, creating diurnal tide and ebb cycles.During high tide, water can be trapped in the coastal basin and this water head can be used to drive a turbine and produce large amount of power which is very reliable and continuous.Bangladesh has good potential for harnessing wave power from the Bay of Bengal. In our research tidal power would be economical and very low compared to most other power plants for Bangladesh. So our main objective is to introduce tidal power as an alternative source to meet up power crisis of Bangladesh.

Around the globe the most concerning discussions are on environmental situation and energy crisis. High price along with increasing scarcity of fuel is making decision makers to think about renewable energy. It is high time Bangladesh Government gave much attention towards renewable energy. Government has already been working on solar energy and biogas so that they become popular. In this paper, we present tidal energy of Bangladesh as another potent and promising source of renewable energy. Encompassed by the Bay of Bengal to the south, this country has considerable scope to develop tidal power. Here in this paper we show tidal data of 6 different sites of Bangladesh to propose that Bangladesh has real potential of using tidal sources for power generation which should be properly utilized. Installation of tidal power plants can ensure the best use of tidal energy available in Bangladesh to solve the energy crisis of the country.

Tidal power can play a vital role in integrating as new source of renewable energy to the off-grid power connection in isolated areas, namely Sandwip, in Bangladesh. It can reduce the present energy crisis and improve the social, environmental and economic perspective of Bangladesh. Tidal energy is becoming popular around the world due to its own facilities. The development of any country largely depends on energy sector improvement. Lack of energy sector is because of hampering progress of any country development, and the energy sector will be stable by only depend on sustainable energy sources. Renewable energy having environmental friendly is the only sustainable solution of secure energy system. Bangladesh has a huge potential of tidal power at different locations, but effective measures on this issue have not been considered sincerely. This paper summarizes the current energy scenario, and Bangladesh can produce power approximately 53.19 MW across the country to reduce the growing energy demand utilizing tidal energy as well as it is shown that Sandwip is highly potential place to produce tidal power, which is estimated approximately 16.49 MW by investing only US $10.37 million. Besides this, cost management for tidal power plant has been also discussed.

The projected increase in energy demand coupled with concerns regarding present reliance on fossil fuel and associated environmental concerns had led to increased interest in exploiting renewable energy sources. Among different renewable energy sources, tidal energy is unique and most suitable because of its predictable nature and capability to ensure supply security. Tide consists of both kinetic and potential energy which can be converted to electricity using well-proven technology. The potential energy of tides-the principal focus of the study, is stored due to rise and fall of the sea level. Head difference created due to tidal variation between basin side and sea side of a barrage stores potential energy which is converted into fast-moving water that rotates turbine and generates electricity. Bangladesh with its long coastline has promising prospects of tidal energy resource development. The study focuses on tidal energy resource exploration and exploitation along several competent locations of the Bengal coastline. Tidal records of flood and ebb tide of these locations are analyzed to calculate the potential energy. Finally, available potential techniques of energy extraction are evaluated for annually generated energy estimation. This study investigates the prospect and utilization of tidal energy concept and reviews the possibilities and opportunities of employment of the technology for sustainable development and climate change mitigation in context of Bangladesh.

In this project we are going to take deep look on tidal energy in the coastal line of India, about how tidal energy is a solution for our currents situation in this world with this climate and how tidal energy works it's basically deep knowledge on tidal energy in the basis of civil engineering work. The development of renewable energy around the world has been given increased importance due to concerns regarding energy supply and climate change. Wave and tidal energy are very important components of the renewable energies that can be extracted from the oceans. Different locations around the India have good natural conditions for one of these forms of energy, with some locations even being suitable for both.
In this communication we have studied ocean power is set to provide an exciting new source of clean renewable energy and one which can contribute to global energy needs on a sustainable basis. There are three basic energy resources available in the ocean to generate electricity including tidal power, wave power and ocean thermal energy conversion. For centuries human harnessed tides to produce power. Most modern tidal-power units generate electricity. In this paper we have considered the tidal power deriving the electrical power from the ocean especially at Pakistan Coastal Waters. Actually the tidal energy schemes capture the water at high tide and release it at low tide. The physical properties and environmental conditions in the southern regions of Pakistan also give the positive contribution in the generation of reasonable tide to work on the tidal-power. INTRODUCTION: Tides are long waves much longer than ordinary wind waves that cause sea level to rise and fall with extraordinary regularity. In fact, the tide is the most uniformly varying phenomenon of the ocean. The daily rise and fall of the tide influences all life along the seashore. This is the fascinating aspects of the ocean is the tide, the slow, up-and-down movement of the sea level that occurs each day. Tidal fluctuations that is the periodic rise and fall of the sea surface is due to the gravitational attraction of the moon and the sun which operate daily and bimonthly, systematically raising and lowering the ocean surface.

Concern over global climate change has led policy makers to accept the importance of reducing Greenhouse gas emissions. A tidal barrage utilizes the potential energy of the tide and has proven to be very successful, despite opposition from environmental groups. Tidal barrages make use of the potential energy of the tides. A tidal barrage is typically a dam, built across a bay or estuary that experiences a tidal range in excess of 5 m. Electricity generation from tidal barrages employs the same principles as hydroelectric generation, except that tidal currents ow in both directions. A typical tidal barrage consists of turbines, sluice gates, embankments and ship locks. The turbines that are used in tidal barrages are either unidirectional or bi-directional, and include bulb turbines, strao or rim turbines and tubular turbines. Tidal barrages can be broken into two types: single-basin systems and double-basin systems. This paper discussed about the tidal barrage, wave energy, environmental impacts and special conditions in there process
—Forthe last few decades, the electricity demand has been increasing with the increased amount of population. To cope up with this, new methodology and sources of electricity generation are introduced. This paper enlightens the power crisis scenario of the southern part of the Bangladesh and the prospect of the tidal energyof that region which is the most reliable, smart and cost effective solution at this situation. This paper also emphasizes on the concept of " Distributed Generation (DG) " which represents a holistic approach to the solution of the power crisis of the southern part of Bangladesh. By collecting, calculating and analysing some realistic data, we have shown that at least 30% power crisis can be solved by using only tidal energy of our selected sites.
