Binge-eating disorder (BED) is characterized by the presence of recurrent binge-eating episodes not followed by the recurrent use of compensatory behaviors, occurring at least once a week for three months, and associated with marked distress. According to the most recent data, BED has a lifetime prevalence of 0.85% (men 0.42% and women 1.25%). The disorder, although it is also present in normal-weight individuals, is more frequent in those with obesity. BED often coexists with specific mental disorders (e.g., depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, or impulse control disorders) and with general medical conditions (e.g., cardiometabolic diseases). Psychological treatments, such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), produce remission of binge-eating episodes in about 50-55% of patients, but have a limited effect on weight loss when BED is associated with obesity. Pharmacological treatments for anxiety and depression have limited effects on the symptoms of BED...

The main idea of Hydrogen Economy is to create a bridge between the energy resources, energy producers and consumers. If hydrogen is produced from renewable energy sources (wind, solar, hydro, biomass, etc.), and used for energy production in the catalytic combustion process, then the energy life cycle does not pollute nature longer. With transition to Hydrogen Economy the Society will live accordingly to the sustainable development model, defined in the 1987 (Our Common Future, 1987).

The present study analyzes the transformation of the vowel system and especially the process of vowel mergers based on the Latin inscriptions of the Gallic and Germanic provinces. With the help of the Computerized Historical Linguistic Database of the Latin Inscriptions of the Imperial Age (http://lldb.elte.hu/), it tries to draw and then compare the phonological profiles of the selected provinces and to describe the dialectal position of Gaul and the Germanic provinces regarding vocalism in three periods (AD 1-300, 301-500 and 501-700). The analysis, which also covers comparisons with certain provinces of Italy, Spain and Dalmatia, is carried out considering four aspects: the ratio of vocalic versus consonantal changes, the ratio of vowel mergers compared to vocalic changes, the ratio of e-i and o-u mergers compared to each other, and the ratio of vowel mergers by stressed and unstressed syllable. As a result of the present study, it was revealed that Gallic provinces cannot be treated as a unit or as clearly separate from the other areas studied according to either aspect of the study, especially not in the early, pre-Christian period. Gallic provinces appear to behave in the same or a levelled manner at most in the later and/or latest periods. The Germanic provinces, especially Germania Superior, have, albeit with some delay, adapted to the Gallic provinces in their late development. The present study, which continued József Herman's research, managed to explore the hitherto little-known linguistic and dialectological features of Latin in the Gallic and Germanic provinces.

Pakistani soldiers stormed the Red Mosque complex of Islamabad in an assault that killed some two hundred people, thus ending months of aggressive and well-publicized provocations by the students and teachers of its men's and women's seminaries. Instead of issuing the Pakistani state a challenge, however, the assorted kidnappings and armed incursions carried out by residents of the Red Mosque, not to mention the threat of suicide bombings, had presented it with a symbolic confrontation in the media. Indeed, the mosque's religious radicalism in the carefully controlled environment of the capital compromised Pakistan's security far less than the secular struggle for autonomy in its restive province of Balochistan did. The entire incident, therefore, exhibited an exemplary character rather than representing a problem of national security, such that Pakistani opinion both for and against the army's action continues even now to be dominated by rumors that the whole crisis was staged either by the government or by the militants themselves.

r e n a t a m a D y D a-l e g u t k o-k r Z y s Z t o f t u n i a The article concerns large storage vessels (Krausengefäße) from the late roman period and the early migration period, found in large numbers in the polish West carpathians. traditionally, it has been assumed that they were used to store grain. It seems, however, that storage vessels found inside houses probably were local 'pantries'-places used to keep various agricultural and gathered produce and its products, intended for direct consumption. They were probably also used to store drinking water. Storage vessels dug into the ground outside houses may have served as local reservoirs of water for consumption or pottery manufacture. The water might have been brought to the settlement in other, smaller, 'storage' vessels. On the other hand, ground granaries and pits dug in the ground, properly secured against birds, rodents and postharvest pests, were much more suitable for long-term grain storage. The characteristic rim of the Krausengefäße vessels, shaped as a flange, was undoubtedly functional and connected to the vessel's closure system. It was an element of a tight cover whose function was to make access to the inside of the vessel as difficult as possible. The lid was probably made of organic material, thick textile of leather, which-once placed over the vessel and tied under the flange-tightly sealed the vessel. This flange-shaped rim was an important invention, which served to strengthen the edges of the vessel and allowed the vessel to be closed easily, quickly and tightly. It secured the contents during both transport and storage. keywords: polish West carpathians, late roman and early migration periods, storage vessels.
