The current book is not about trying to prove the truth of this or that scientific or religious account about the origins of either human beings, in particular, or life, in general. ‘The Origin of Life' is about the problems surrounding the process of interpreting empirical evidence and subjecting that data to various methods of rigorous critical reflection.

History and philosophy of the life sciences, 2012

For centuries the question of the origin of life had focused on the question of the spontaneous generation of life, at least primitive forms of Ufe, from inanimate matter, an idea that had been promoted most prominently by Aristode. The widespread belief in spontaneous generation, which had been adopted by the Church, too, was finally abandoned at the beginning of the twentieth century, when the question of the origin of life became related to that of the artificial generation of life in the laboratory. This paper examines the role of social authorities, researchers' basic beliefs, crucial experiments, and scientific advance in the controversies about spontaneous generation from the seventeenth to the nineteenth centuries and analyzes the subsequent debates about the synthesis of artificial life in the changing scientific contexts of the nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. It shows that despite the importance of social authorities, basic beliefs, and crucial experiments scientific advances, especially those in microbiology, were the single most important factor in the stepwise abandoning of the doctrine of spontaneous generation. Research on the origin of life and the artificial synthesis of life became scientifically addressed only when it got rid of the idea of constant smooth transitions between inanimate matter and life and explored possible chemical and physical mechanisms of the specificity of basic molecules and processes of life.

For centuries, science was considered as something radically different from religion. Yet, the foundations of true science are deeply religious in nature. This paper seeks to show how religion is the only foundation needed for the formulation of scientific theories, since it provides the core principles on which the building of exact sciences is based upon. Our need to understand the cosmos and our faith in us being able to do so, are the main prerequisites for conducting science; prerequisites that are derived from our belief in us being the sons of God and, thus, being able to read His mind. From its birth on 7 March 1277 up to today, science seems to be the only logical attitude of religious people towards the unknown cosmos.

Preface Secret of Creation The world is suffering from the third world war. The Covid-19 Virus has shaken the whole world. Only one Virus has created panic, its remedy is far away. Covid-19 vaccine will take final shape in next few months, but it has given the warning that world is one and life is one, a slight mistake may ruin the world peace and whatever we have achieved through modern development will be nowhere. The third world will be atomic war with guided missiles. The key of the world peace is with religions, but due to the modern scientific development, they are on the back foot. Only blind faith in the formless God is insufficient. We have exploited the nature too much and we have to face the consequences like covid-19 and natural catastrophe. We have to understand that whatever is and whatever will be is nature only. The sustainable development and harmony with the Nature has the key. The modern Science has enlightened us that the creation has evolved from fundamental energy, under the laws of thermodynamics. The life has evolved from single DNA with genetic recombination and cell division. The food metabolism with photosynthesis by the plants is source of life. The ozone layer in the atmosphere and magnetosphere around the earth protects the life on the Earth. The building block of the creation is atom with four components Electron, proton, neutron and energy. The building block of the living-beings is four bases of DNA. The Higgs field, underlying space has imparted mass to elementary particles with asteroids and planets.

For some time now and at several levels, various debates have been taking place, on whether the God factor, is, or can be made compatible with the contemporary science. This study attempts to explore the nature of this debate, by delving in two critical concerns; origin and evolution of life and universe. In line with meticulous endeavor to comprehend the matter of the concern, the theories pertaining to subjects of the debates, such as, the theory of evolution, theory of relativity and quantum physics are explored and analyzed. The exclusivity of this study is the omission of the religion (or respective religious point of view) from the debate itself. The paper also attempts to define God and additionally offers numerous prominent scientists' views in relation to God. Moreover, the study also delves into the inside focus of the science camp and the burden of responsibility they have to the outside world. A number of significant points to the study, diverse in shape and composition, are put forward to elucidate the issues concerned. The paper, however, concludes that modern science, in relation to origin and evolution of life and universe, is unreliable, in disarray, filled, above all, with gaps, inconsistencies and paradoxes that scientists themselves admit. In doing so, the editors of SGJ hope that one day we will be able to answer scientifically the questions concerning us the most-who are we, where did we come from, where are we going, and, is there a Scientific GOD? The origin of life occupies a very important place in the study of the evolution. Its liminal location between life and non-life poses special challenges to researchers who study this subject. Current approaches in studying the origin and evolution of early life are reductive: they either reduce the domain of non-life to the domain of life or vice versa. This contribution seeks to provide a perspective that would avoid reductionism of any kind. Its goal is to outline a frame that would include both domains and their respective evolutions as its particular cases. The study examines the main theoretical perspectives on the origin and evolution of early life and provides a constructive critique of these perspectives. An objective view requires viewing an object or a phenomenon from all available points of view. The goal of this contribution is not to prove the current perspectives wrong and to deny their achievements. It seeks to provide an angle that would be sufficiently wide and would allow synthesizing current perspectives for a comprehensive and objective interpretation of the origin and evolution of early life. In other words, it seeks to outline a frame for an objective view that will help understand life's place within the universe.
