Motivation is one of the several things which determines the successful of the student learning activity. Without motivation, learning process is difficult to achieve optimum success. The use of the principle of motivation is something essential in the learning and education process. This article trils to investigate the influence of learning motivation to the student science performance. This correlation descriptive study was conducted as a case study on elementary school fourth grade students and the objective was to describe the level of influence of student's motivation toward science performance. A total of 26 fourth grade students at Tarumanagara Elementary School District Tawang is used as a sample. Data was collected using a questionnaire as an instrument of learning motivation variables and test results as the average student achievement variable. Results of data processed with statistical calculations and the average correlation performed using SPSS 16.0. Results showed that on average, learning motivation and science learning performance of students achieve good interpretation. The Influence of student's learning motivation showed significant high correlation and donate the influence of 48.1% on student's science performance.
Behavioural Public Policy, 2023
Public policies often involve “norm nudging”, the use of norm information to steer individual behavior in a prosocial direction. Analysis of social norm messaging often concentrates on the outcome measure: the potential change in behavior. The cognitive and psychological processes that underlie individuals’ response to norm information, especially the inferences they draw, are usually overlooked. This knowledge gap may lead to adverse consequences, such as messages backfiring. To (factually) justify norm nudging interventions, it is essential that policymakers understand the complex mechanisms that link context, social expectations and preferences, and how the interpretation of different types of messages affects behavior.

This essay explores the transformative period of the Ottoman Empire's decline and the emergence of modern Turkey, examining the profound impacts on ethnic minorities, particularly Armenians and Greeks. It addresses three pivotal questions: Did the Ottoman Empire intentionally attempt to erase its ethnically diverse identity? What role did the Greek and Armenian communities play in the disintegration of the Empire? And, were the tragic fates of these communities during and after the Empire's collapse cases of genocide? Through a detailed historical analysis, the paper affirms that the Empire sought to homogenize its identity by marginalizing and erasing minority cultures. It also suggests that while the minorities did influence the Empire's trajectory, the lack of democratic reforms akin to those in contemporary Western societies contributed significantly to the Empire's downfall. Furthermore, the treatment of these minorities meets the modern criteria for genocide, highlighting a need for stronger legal and social frameworks to prevent such atrocities in the future. This study draws on a range of historical accounts and scholarly interpretations, arguing that the legacies of these events continue to necessitate vigilance and proactive governance in today's global context.

Researchers in second language (L2) learning typically regard "statistical significance" as a benchmark of success for an experiment. However, because this statistic indicates nothing more than the probability of data sets occurring given the essentially impossible condition that the null hypothesis is true, it confers little of practical or theoretical importance. Significance is also the source of widespread misinterpretation, including confusion of significance with effect size. Critics of NHST assert that alternative approaches based on Bayes' theorem are more appropriate for hypothesis testing. This paper provides a non-technical introduction to essential concepts underlying Bayesian statistical inference, including prior probabilities and Bayes factors. Common criticisms of NHST are outlined and possible benefits of Bayesian approaches over NHST are discussed.
