This paper describes the diffusion of Moodle within Cherokee County Schools. The diffusion is evaluated using the Bass Model and the RIPPLES model in order to evaluate relative success or failure. The Bass Model of Diffusion was calculated utilizing forecasting by analogy in order to analyze the adoption rates in a county high school. The adoption of Moodle was then analyzed using the RIPPLES model to understand why the adoption rates were below the projected Bass model adoption figures.

In Malaysia, there is widespread recognition that technology can play a significant role in supplementing and complimenting the process of teacher's teaching and learning. Given current recognition of the advancement of educational technology, as well as the high costs of investing in schools or higher institutions, this study attempted understand teachers' acceptance of blended e-learning in teaching and learning. It examines the effects of the endogenous variables towards with blended e-learning acceptance, which involved 98 teachers. Computer attitudes (CA), computer teaching efficacy (CTE), school environment (SE) and Moodle use (CU) were analysed to understand its influences in Moodle use. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was employed for the data analysis. All hypotheses were supported by the data and have direct effects towards blended e-learning acceptance.

This paper aims to empirically validate the driving factors of online learning zone (Moodle 1.9) adoption. As a dynamic web based learning management software that allows academic instructors to create, modify and sequence teaching materials for students, yet there are few studies that have addressed the antecedents of this software’s acceptance, particularly among Malaysian users. As its theoretical background, this research applies the popular unified theory of acceptance and technology usage to the field of online learning zone (Moodle 1.9). A survey was conducted and 137 valid questionnaires were analyzed through structural equation modelling. In overall, the results as obtained from the structural analyzes have empirically show that social influence has a significant effect on students’ ability to behave positively towards online learning zone (Moodle 1.9). Remarkably, the path coefficient and p-value in the relationship between social influence and behavioral intention depict ...

This paper seeks to analyse the perceptions of students and teachers regarding the factors that influence satisfaction and the intention to continue using Moodle. An approach that integrates DeLone and McLean's Information Systems Success Model to Davis' Technology Acceptance Model is used. The two models are widely used in research related to the context of e-learning. A quantitative methodological approach was assumed, based on the post-positivist paradigm. Data collection was carried out employing a self-administered questionnaire developed in Google Forms. Descriptive analysis techniques were applied for the data analysis of 144 valid questionnaires. The results showed that teachers and students have a positive perception of the ease of use and usefulness of Moodle, besides evidencing those users are satisfied and intend to continue using Moodle. This research contributes to the formation of knowledge about the perception of Moodle users as support for classroom teaching, providing helpful information for educational institutions, researchers, managers, administrators, and designers of e-learning systems.

The increase in student populations in higher education institutions means face-to-face service delivery is now very expensive. Most institutions are therefore exploring the possibility of online learning on a massive scale, which the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic have now expedited. This study aims to investigate the extent to which pre-service teachers use Moodle to enhance learning. The study used a quantitative approach in which quantitative data were gathered using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire developed by the researchers, using previous studies. A stratified sample of 400 pre-service teachers selected from a population of 4 000 participated in the study. A total of 332 participants successfully completed and returned the questionnaires, giving a return rate of 83 per cent. The study used the Technology Acceptance Model as its theoretical framework. The results indicated that seven of the 13 hypotheses were statistically significant, leading to the adoption o...
The purpose of this study was to explore the factors that influence administrators in three rural Pennsylvania school districts to continue using a Moodle learning management system (LMS) and discover teacher perceptions and other factors that affect the use of Moodle in these school districts. Using a mixed explanatory design, the researcher determined that teachers’ opinions on why a school district subscribes to an LMS or how successful a school district is in meeting its goals for using an LMS had no effect on their level of LMS use. Also, the teachers’ level of LMS use was not affected by encouragement from other teachers or school district administrators. However, it was discovered that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were factors that affected the teachers’ level of LMS use. Administrators from each participating school district indicated a unique factor that prompted them to continue using Moodle. These factors were: (a) the continued need to facilitate elective courses for one district’s cyberschool program, (b) the gaining popularity of Moodle due to teachers becoming more familiar with it, and (c) the need for increased collaboration among faculty within one district’s teacher induction program.

This study investigates teacher perceptions of the use of Moodle, a learning management system (LMS) to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in a private school in Al-Ain city in the United Arab Emirates. The study explores teacher perceptions of Moodle as a tool for enhancing learners' motivation and the opportunities it offers teachers to practice differentiated teaching. A qualitative approach was used to collect data from 12 K-12 teachers in one school in Al-Alain in the United Arab Emirates. The teachers, who participated in the study, attended an introductory training before they participated in the study. The results of the study indicate that teachers are very positive about Moodle as a tool for enhancing teaching and learning however there are other important factors that have made the implementation of Moodle a difficult task, which have been discussed in this paper. This study reflects the results of a single case study that will hopefully add to the emerging literature on the use of Moodle in the United Arab Emirates.

The purpose of this research is to analyze acceptance and usage of Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) amongst academics in a selected public university. 71 academics were responded from four faculties i.e. Social Sciences, Humanities, Commerce & Management Studies, and Computing and Technology in the University of Kelaniya. The printed questionnaires as well as online questionnaires were distributed among the lectures. The findings reveal that a gap between high acceptance and low actual usage. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was the framework used for this study. Finding of this research revealed the hypotheses such as academics' attitude towards using LMS is influenced by the perceived usefulness. Academics' behavioral intention to use LMS is influenced by their attitude towards using LMS. Academics' acceptance of learning management system is high in University of Kelaniya. The data revealed that the academics use the LMS more for 'assignment'. Some activities such as Mootyper, SCORM package, Workshop, Wiki, Survey, Choice and Glossary should be more utilized. The URL was the most used Moodle resource and the least resource was IMS content package. So IMS content package, label should be more utilized and need to conduct proper trainings to get a successful engagement in Moodle LMS.

There are a number of different alternatives as learning management systems to be used for desired teaching outcomes. Moodle e-learning platform is one of them. The aim of the study was to determine the acceptance degree of B1 level undergraduate students' of Moodle. To achieve this goal, Technology Acceptance Model was used. The data was collected through a 5-point Likert scale self-report questionnaire which aims to question technical support, perceived usefulness, computer self-efficacy, perceived ease of use, attitude and system usage. The participants of the study were 110 university EFL students. The results indicated that the students in B1 level perceived Moodle as an effective learning tool and there was a positive correlation between their acceptance of Moodle and English achievement. These findings are considered helpful to identify the pros and cons of Moodle and may help the teachers how to use Moodle effectively for their English classes.
