Sonido es todo lo que nos llega al oído, y se produce mediante: ALGO QUE VIBRE, llamado cuerpo sonoro (que puede ser un instrumento musical o no) ALGO QUE LO TRANSMITA, que puede ser el aire, y también el agua o un medio sólido. Y ALGO QUE LO RECIBA, que sería nuestro oído. El sonido, entonces, es producido porque algún cuerpo sonoro vibra, y la vibración que produce genera ondas en el aire, que son las que llegan al tímpano. Esto no quiere decir que todos los cuerpos sonoros sean instrumentos musicales, por lo cual podríamos diferenciar dos grupos dentro del sonido:
En este artículo, se menciona la importancia que tiene el SIDA a nivel mundial, esta epidemia esta descontrolada y esto se comenzó a registrar principalmente en Chile, en 1980, descubriendo así un nuevo virus, el cual hasta la actualidad no ha podido ser destruido. Todos estos descubrimientos fueron posibles gracias a la colaboración de varios doctores que dedicaron su tiempo en el estudio de dicho virus.

We, the signatory academics to the Peace Declaration that went public in January 2016, have been subjected to multiple forms of intimidation, repression, defamation by governmental authorities as well as by pro-AKP groups in Turkey for more than two years. Despite all the pressures we have stood for our claim to peace in our country. Despite all the intimidation we opted to stand in solidarity against the breach of our academic rights and liberties. This is a call to our colleagues worldwide against the violation of our right to movement due 1 to the unlawful cancellation of our passports within the scope of State of Emergency, mostly via decrees in the force of law through which we are banned from public service. 2 Some Peace Signatories who are not included in any decree in the force of law are also arbitrarily subjected to this restriction. Even the family members are subjected to similar violations. As of August 2018, 405 peace signatories were banned from public service. Since it is not only the peace academics but their families whose right to movement is violated the number reaches detrimental levels. Besides, it is not only the peace academics who are immediately affected by this unlawful practice but the process works such arbitrarily that it can target anyone deemed to be opposing the government's practices. Many of us cannot activate the overseas scholarships that we have as a result of this unlawful practice. We cannot refer to the domestic law procedures. This is because the government labels us as complicit to 'terrorist' activities. This locks us into a sphere where we can no longer pursue our academic engagements at institutional level: 'Civil death', it is called! 3 That is why we prioritize the support of international academic and intellectual community. We ask our colleagues all around the world to support us in our search for claiming our right to movement.

A PIE word for 'beard' and the Latin palma rule This article discusses one of the words for 'beard' reconstructible for the IE protolanguage based on Latin, Germanic, Baltic, and Slavic evidence. It is usually reconstructed as PIE *bhar(s)dh-o/eh2- with *-a- of unknown origin. In this article, a new etymology will be proposed: The word for 'beard' stems from an underlying compound consisting of an s-stem *bherH-e/os- 'sth. sharp, point, tip' and zero-grade *dheh1- 'to set, place, lay'. This compound was later remodelled into an o-stem *bhorHs-dhó-displaying a o-grade in the root (a so-called τομός-formation) meaning 'the one who sets points' accounting for the Germanic forms. Additionally, a zero-grade eh 2-collective *bhŕ̥Hs-dh-eh2 'mass of points' was formed eventually leading to Latin barba. Finally, a contamination of the two stems *bhorHs-dh-eh2-develops into the Baltic and Slavic forms.

The imperative presence of land as a personified being in Indigenous Literatures asserts the crucial connection between land and the native ‘self’ in defining ‘indigeneity’. While this ‘self’ is often reclaimed in a wrestle against the geo-political confines of the nation-state; an indigenous woman, however, navigates ‘self’ in ways non-identical. Women’s connection to land, as opposed to indigenous men, shapes ethno-political struggle of proprietorship and rather builds upon shared feminine traits of fertility, nurture, and service. Focusing on the integration of gender and ecology as an important aspect of ecological critique on power and progress, this paper attempts to delineate the gendered relationship between the indigene and land. It delves into two important areas of study: firstly, probing the distinct ways the indigene ‘self’ unifies itself with the land, and secondly, critiquing the gendered dynamics involved in this merger.
