This study examines what drives organizational adoption and use of social media through a model built around four key factors – strategy, capacity, governance, and environment. Using Twitter, Facebook, and other data on 100 large US nonprofit organizations, the model is employed to examine the determinants of three key facets of social media utilization: 1) adoption, 2) frequency of use, and 3) dialogue. We find that organizational strategies, capacities, governance features, and external pressures all play a part in these social media adoption and utilization outcomes. Through its integrated, multi-disciplinary theoretical perspective, this study thus helps foster understanding of which types of organizations are able and willing to adopt and juggle multiple social media accounts, to use those accounts to communicate more frequently with their external publics, and to build relationships with those publics through the sending of dialogic messages.
Kultura wielbarska. Procesy przemian i kontakty zewnętrzne (pod redakcją Andrzeja Michałowskiego, Magdaleny Piotrowskiej, Marka Olędzkego). T.II., 2024
Silk industry is an agro-based industry. In the production of Silk, India stands 2 nd highest position and the sole monopoly power in the production of Muga silk among the all over the world. The NorthEastern region of India has been traditionally practicing sericulture particularly mulberry, muga and eri from time immemorial. Rearing of Eri, Muga and Mulberry silk worm are playing an important role and economic support to a large section of rural population in the state of Assam. It is practiced in more than 10532 villages and provides employment to 2.6 lakh family. Assam accounts for the highest production on muga and eri in the country. " Sualkuchi " is a centre village of producing verity of silk cloths/fabrics in Kamrup (Rural) District of Assam and it has been developed over the years as a major centre for commercial production of indigenous fabrics especially the pat and muga silk. The paper is mainly based on to discuss the demographic, socioeconomic features of the village Sualkuchi and employment opportunities in silk industries, present market situation. The paper is an empirical study made in Sualkuchi village of Assam, based on both primary and secondary data collection. Secondary data collected from various internet source, newspapers, magazines, published and unpublished articles.

In this paper, we describe an analytical modeling approach for performability analysis of cloud provided services. We use infrastructure-as-a-service as an example of a cloud based service, where service availability and provisioning response delays are key service level agreements (SLAs) to users while cost reductions are important to service providers. A novelty of our approach is in reducing the complexity of the analysis by dividing the overall model into multiple interacting sub-models and then obtaining the overall solution by iteration over submodel solutions. This results in a high fidelity model that is scalable. We summarize our modeling approach, showcase our ongoing work through initial results and outline future avenues of research using such an approach.

In the modern world, as the population rises and fossil fuel supplies decline, energy demands continue to rise. Moreover, the use of fossil fuels harms the ecology, contributing to pollution and global warming. In order to overcome these difficulties, several approaches are revealed, such as the utilization of biomass as a renewable source of energy. Studies revealed that biomass can be converted into bioenergy via several thermal conversion processes, like pyrolysis, gasification, and torrefaction. Pyrolysis is the most convenient process to obtain three different types of biofuels (biochar as a solid, bio-oil as a liquid, and syngas as a gas). The biofuels produced in this process are normally lower in quality and cannot be used directly as fuel because they contain many undesirable components. Catalytic pyrolysis is one of the best processes to upgrade the quality of biofuels. Several varieties of catalysts are used in the catalytic pyrolysis process (ex situ and in situ). Due to...
The aim of this report is to analyse the market of China in order to define any market opportunities for new organizations and to highlight the implications for those organizations to enter the Chinese market. In terms of the market analysis, a deep analysis of the cultural, political/legal, and economical factors will be discussed. Those four factors are part of the PESTL analysis that marketers conduct to gather a good understanding of the market environment. The main cultural factors discussed are the huge diversity of China, labour force, connections as part of the Chinese culture, and the population growth rate. The main political/legal factors discussed are the political stability in China, joining the World Trade Organization (WTO), the easiness of entering the Chinese market, and tax free or reductions on new business. The main economical factors discussed are joining the WTO, China's GDP, FDIs, and the availability of labour force at low cost. Finally, the report is ended with an analysis of the Chinese market and some recommendations wether new organizations should enter the Chinese market.
Engineering Failure Analysis, 2009
This study investigates a failure case in El-Kureimat thermal power station unit number 2 which experienced secondary super-heater tube failures. The failed tubes were reportedly found to be weeping during an operating pressure hydrostatic test, performed after a repair of another boiler component. The failure analysis indicated that the 304H tube leakage was due to stress corrosion cracking. The cracked tubes were studied and found to have undergone sensitization due to either welding or heat treatment of bent parts. Both serviceexposed and laboratory specimens were studied in the current work. The service exposed samples that exhibited cracking were removed from the foresaid boiler. The laboratory specimens were used to verify proposed failure sequence and to evaluate the susceptibility of this alloy to sensitization. A correlation was made between artificially sensitized samples and stress corrosion cracking mechanism.
