The aim of the ArDM project is the development and operation of a one ton double-phase liquid argon detector for direct Dark Matter searches. The detector measures both the scintillation light and the ionization charge from ionizing radiation using two independent readout systems. This paper briefly describes the detector concept and presents preliminary results from the ArDM R&D program, including

ArDM-1t is the prototype for a next generation WIMP detector measuring both the scintillation light and the ionization charge from nuclear recoils in a 1-ton liquid argon target. The goal is to reach a minimum recoil energy of 30 keVr to detect recoiling nuclei. In this paper we describe the experimental concept and present results on the light detection system, tested for the first time in ArDM on the surface at CERN. With a preliminary and incomplete set of PMTs, the light yield at zero electric field is found to be between 0.3-0.5 phe/keVee depending on the position within the detector volume, confirming our expectations based on smaller detector setups.

The WARP programme is a graded programme intended to search for cold Dark Matter in the form of WIMP's. These particles may produce via weak interactions nuclear recoils in the energy range 10 − 100 keV . A cryogenic noble liquid like argon, already used in the realization of very large detector, permits the simultaneous detection of both ionisation and scintillation induced by an interaction, suggesting the possibility of discriminating between nuclear recoils and electrons mediated events. A 2.3 litres two-phase argon detector prototype has been used to perform several tests on the proposed technique. Next step is the construction of a 100 litres sensitive volume device with potential sensitivity a factor 100 better than presently existing experiments.

The Argon Dark Matter (ArDM) experiment consists of a liquid argon (LAr) time projection chamber (TPC) sensitive to nuclear recoils, resulting from scattering of hypothetical Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) on argon targets. With an active target mass of 850 kg ArDM represents an important milestone towards developments for large LAr Dark Matter detectors. Here we present the experimental apparatus currently installed underground at the Laboratorio Subterráneo de Canfranc (LSC), Spain. We show data on gaseous or liquid argon targets recorded in 2015 during the commissioning of ArDM in single phase at zero E-field (ArDM Run I). The data confirms the overall good and stable performance of the ArDM tonne-scale LAr detector.

The DarkSide-50 experiment, located at the "Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (INFN)", is based on low-radioactivity argon double phase time pro jection chamber, surrounded by an active liquid scintillator veto, designed for the zero background achievement. The liquid argon features sufficient self shielding and easy scalability to multi-tons scale. The impressive reduction of the 39 Ar iso tope (compared to the atmospheric argon), along with the exc ellent pulse shape discrimination, make this technology a possible candidate for the forthcoming gen eration of multi-ton Dark Matter experiments.

This thesis is a contribution to recent debates on the labour theory of value (LTV). It builds upon two distinctive features of the LTV; first, the categories used in the inquiry are historically determined modes of existence of capitalist social relations; second, it rejects equilibrium as the organizing principle of the investigation. Six issues are analysed in the light of these elements and the previous literature. First, the relationship between dialectical logic and the LTV is addressed through an evaluation of the 'new dialectics'. This approach to Marx's method understands the LTV as a systematic dialectical theory, whose aim is the reconstruction in thought of the main characteristics of capitalism. Second, the relationship between labour and value is assessed through the real processes that determine value and price, the normalization, synchronization and homogenization (NSH) of labour. Three well-known views of the LTV are assessed in this light; the tradition...
