The main purpose of this article is to present very briefly the coins discovered during rescue archaeological excavation of an ancient and late antique settlement located in the hinterland of Philippopolis. The significance of the discovered coins is of particular importance for the study of the relationship between the city and its adjacent rural territory in the pre-Roman, Roman and Late Antique periods. In the case of Philippopolis, these connections remain beyond the attention of scholars for the time being. The significance of the coins discovered is clearly evident in the fact that among them there are some that have not been found so far during archaeological excavations in Bulgaria, and others are unknown to science.

During the last several decades, political and military influence of the Golden Horde in European Southeast has been recognized as an important topic. However, despite the increased interest in the modern scholarship, some important aspects of the Tatar military activities in the region were left on the margins so far. This article not only provides the overview of Tatar campaigns, but also focuses on several neglected topics, including the assessment of strength of the Tatar armies and the season of the year during which their campaigns usually occurred. Despite the exaggerated numbers frequently present in the sources, it may be assessed that even in the most important campaigns, the Tatar contingents numbered no more than two to four thousand people. In the mass migrations from the Pontic steppes to the Balkans, caused by internal strifes in the Golden Horde and taking place in the beginning and at the very end of the fourteenth century, the number of the refugees was several times higher. However, in these migrations participated not only warriors, but their families as well. The author concludes that from the military point of view, the importance of the Tatar armies did not lie in their numerical strength. It was rather their ability to conduct campaigns in late autumn and winter months, outside of the usual campaign season, which made them desirable allies, or dreaded adversaries.

فإن لفظ (التجديد) صار شائعا يرفعه، وينادي به، ويدعو إليه، الكثير من الكتاب والباحثين في الفقه الاسلامي، وتحت هذا الشعار (شعار التجديد) يأتون بآراء وأفكار ومطالب لتحقيق (التجديد) الذي يدعون إليه. والذي أراه قبل الكلام عن التجديد في الفكر الإسلامي أن أبين مفهوم التجديد في الإسلام؛ لأن الفكر الإسلامي هو الذي لا يحمل إلا معاني ومفاهيم الإسلام، وبدون ذلك لا يجوز وصف الفكر بأنه إسلامي. وبعد أن أبين مفهوم التجديد في الإسلام، وما قد يعتريه من خلل، أبين التأصيل الشرعي له أي المستند الشرعي له؛ لأنه لا يجوز تقويل الإسلام ما لم يقله، ولا تحميل مصادر أحكامه ما لا تحتمل، ثم أبين بعد ذلك ضوابط هذا التجديد في الإسلام. وبناءا على ما تقدم أقسم هذا البحث إلى ثلاثة فصول على النحو الآتي: الفصل الأول: مفهوم التجديد في الإسلام، وما قد يصيبه من خلل. الفصل الثاني: التأصيل الشرعي للتجديد في الإسلام. الفصل الثالث: ضوابط التجديد في الإسلام

Students should read and study the exercises before coming to the laboratory and should supply themselves with the necessary materials including the text book, lecture notes, laboratory manual, calculators, pens, and pencils. All students are required to wear appropriate clothing to lab as outlined by the lab instructor as well as follow all safety precautions during laboratory exercises.

In the work addressed for the incorporation of the gender perspective in Castelló (Valencian Community, Spain), the circumstance of an exceptional municipal technical team, led by Consuelo Leal, and a political government team that respects the decisions and technical recommendations have coincided. The advisory team on gender issues —redactor of this text— has contributed , fundamentally, to the implementation of collective intelligence mechanisms, establishing a working mechanism that allows listening and speaking, expanding the usual framework of work and investigating new possibilities and issues. During this work process, some objectives were established , a working method was defined and a series of actions were proposed. This set of activities has been developed over time, documented and evaluated in a way that allowed redefining and adjusting what was initially thought. The intention has been to produce a specific and individualized result for Castelló, coming from the knowledge of the environment and strengthened by academic and professional knowledge. In addition, it is expected to function as a mechanism to eradicate violence against women.

Glucocorticoid ablation following adrenalectomy resulted in restoration of the impaired non-shivering thermogenesis and impaired glucose tolerance and insulin resistance in obese LA/Ntul//-cp rats. This is a congenic rat strain where the only difference between the lean and obese phenotypes was the presence of the epigenetic expression of obesity in an NIDDM-free animal model. Groups of young adult obese animals were adrenalectomized, followed by thermogenesis and glycemic assessment thereafter. In an additional subgroup, animals were administered insulin daily in an attempt to maintain the insulin resistance state. Adrenalectomy resulted in a complete restoration of normal resting and norepinephrine stimulated thermogenesis and an amelioration of the glycemic parameters of insulin resistance.
