The relations between Armenia, the Armenian cultural space -not only the Republic of Armenia-, and the Indian cultural space -not only the Republic of India-, are more ancient and more intense than the long distance between these two spaces would suggest. The first direct relations are attested to in the Achaemenid period (5th century BC) and intensified throughout antiquity and the Middle Ages. They are part of the Silk Roads and have an undeniable economical dimension. Several examples of cultural relationships here are indisputable. The fact that from ancient times some Indians became Christians obviously played an essential role in the opening to the Armenian world. Links between Armenian and Indian Christianity are attested throughout the Middle Ages, and the Armenian Catholics considered the Indians to be in communion with them and not as "Nestorians". In this communication we will analyze some geographical Armenian documents about the knowledge of the Indian space, as testimonies of travelling in it. We will not develop here the question of the figure of the apostle Thomas in Armenian literature, nor of the Armenian version of the Acts of Judas Thomas translated from the Aramaic original, which has already been dealt with that I studied elsewhere. Instead, we will discuss the modalities of relationship in the context of the Silk Roads, and then focus on religious relations during Christian antiquity and Middle Ages.

Metamaterials are, nowadays, a mature field of research in acoustic and many applications with metamaterials have been developed in recent years. In metamaterials, the attenuation of sound is due to the interaction of the sound waves with their geometrically regular structures. The frequency at which the attenuation occurs is calculated with Braggs' law. This work presents sound attenuation measurements of structures made with metamaterials carried out in an anechoic chamber. The arrangements considered are both two-dimensional and three-dimensional: the 2D arrangement was obtained with a regular distribution of linear elements made with bars with diameters of 9, 15, and 20 mm; the 3D arrangement was obtained with a regular distribution of a lattice of spheres with a diameter of 23 mm. The results of the acoustic measurements are reported in terms of insertion loss in the range from 1000 to 10 000 Hz.

After developing certain physical, chemical and electrical properties, electrical insulation papers can be made and are widely used in telephone cables, wire binding, capacitor and condensers. Researchers prepared different types of electrical grade papers and show their properties. An attempt was made in the study to find out the variation in the properties of material on changing the chemical composition. The (Cannabis sativa) paper was prepared as per the details available in literature and found that even if 80% of the Cannabis sativa was considered, it did not show electrical grade paper properties.

Antoine Berman, traductor y pensador de la traducción, dedicó buena parte de su labor académica a la traducción e interpretación del pensamiento de Walter Benjamin, filósofo alemán que escribió el más célebre ensayo sobre la traducción literaria en el siglo XX: Die Aufgabe des Übersetzers (1923) o, en traducción, La tarea del traductor. En esta reseña crítica, reunimos los aspectos más relevantes del comentario de Berman sobre el pensamiento benjaminiano, el cual es traducción de por sí. Es decir, el libro se caracteriza por otorgarle a la traducción un lugar central, resaltando que un estudio minucioso sobre un texto en lengua extranjera sólo se hizo posible por el contacto íntimo con el lenguaje que traducir ofrece. El resultado, por ende, consiste en nueve cuadernos en donde el pensador francés despliega comprensiones inéditas sobre la concepción traductológica de Benjamin sobre este y, consecuentemente, otros ensayos del autor, además de hacer hincapié en la traducción como un profundo ejercicio crítico, filosófico y pedagógico.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has recently made the news worldwide due to its increased availability and use by institutional and private actors. However, its multifaceted employment can serve both as an enormous opportunity and as a threat when used (or misused) by States, companies as well as by individuals: therefore, it raises a number of questions and challenges that all involved players must address. AMIStaDeS considered it essential to reflect on the implications of the use of AI both in certain domains (for example, in space or at sea) and in specific geographic regions, which are characterised by their peculiar legal, cultural and political balances and can see very different developments in the use and regulation of AI. Thanks to its analysts and researchers, AMIStaDeS thus proposes a research study articulated into two volumes, devoted to understanding contemporary challenges and opportunities raised by AI, and to reflecting on possible developments of this unprecedented technology.
