Social reconstruction in the prehispanic Andes has been challenging to archaeologists as they struggle to overcome limited and biased material evidence. This chapter discusses our current understanding of (1) major social organizational forms and their origins, (2) the contexts and means that led to social integration and hierarchy, and (3) their diverse forms of expression in the prehispanic Andes. Given the breadth and complexity of the subject at hand and uneven information quality and quantity, discussion is selective and emphasizes societies that have been most well studied.

El propósito de esta investigación fue evaluar la actividad del montañismo en la montaña Huayna Potosí, como producto turístico con base en las percepciones de los principales actores, mediante: grupos focales a guías de montaña, entrevistas a representantes de agencias de turismo y encuestas a turistas nacionales y extranjeros. Como resultado se evidenció que la actividad del montañismo en Huayna Potosí implica riesgos para el turista y para el guía de montaña. Los principales aspectos para mejorar son: gestión de la basura, preservación de la zona y establecimiento de reglamentación específica para la actividad. Se considera prioridad mejorar el proceso de prestación del servicio para cumplir con todos los actores de esta actividad: turistas, guías de montaña, operadoras de turismo, población local y entidades gubernamentales.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the conceptual awareness of accounting teachers in their teaching learning process based on SOLO Taxonomy curriculum approach in secondary level schools. Further, the study explored the relationship between the curriculum development inputs and the SOLO based curriculum development process. The curriculum development inputs are teacher effectiveness, school community, school environment and technology availability. Method: Data was collected through questionnaires survey administration of accounting teachers in secondary level school in Sri Lanka. The respondent was selected on the basis of their subject and their experience. The data obtained from the teachers was input into the program Statistical Package for Social Sciences software package.
