A personal account of their experiences by Marcel Boumans and Evelyn Forget as JHET editors of issues 31 (1) to 35 (4). When our editorial transition began in July 2008, the Journal of the History of Economic Thought (JHET) had just changed its publisher from Routledge to Cambridge University Press (CUP). Our first issue in March 2009 (volume 31, number 1) had a wonderful new cover, still in use, designed by former editor Steve Medema, that featured an extract from Adam Smith at the top fading into Alfred Marshall below. We faced two primary challenges. First, we wanted to continue on the solid editorial path that Steve Medema had laid, encouraging new contributors and new ideas to join the stalwarts of the field. And second, we faced the far less enjoyable prospect of transitioning to an electronic interface. We took on the creative aspects of editing with zeal, forming a new editorial team with H. Spencer Banzhaf as book review editor and writing an ambitious editorial inviting "submissions from a wide variety of perspectives that use a range of historical methods [and] imaginative new approaches" (Boumans and Forget 2009, p. 1). To "encourage new voices and new insights" (p. 1), we wanted to create an editorial board membership that would not only contribute to the prestige of the journal but also reflect the membership of our History of Economics Society (HES) so that prospective authors might see JHET as an appropriate outlet for their work. We tried to diversify the editorial board in terms of gender and geographic spread, although we were more successful with the latter than the former. While the board consisted of members living in the United States (five), Canada (four), the United Kingdom (four), Australia (one), France (two), Brazil (one), Germany (one), Italy (one), Japan (one), and the Netherlands (one), only one-quarter was female. We organized editorial lunch meetings at each HES

Journal of Economics, Finance and Administrative Science, 2022
With great pride and closing the year 2022 with volume 27 issue 54 of the Journal of Economics, Finance and Administrative Science (JEFAS), we share with our authors, readers and the scientific community in general that our journal was awarded the Scopus – Concytec 2022 Scientific Production Award in the category “Peruvian journal with the greatest impact in Scopus”. Without a doubt, this is the achievement of an entire editorial team and our committed educational institution, ESAN, whose effort, and perseverance have made it possible to invest in research in these categories of business, economics and finance over many years (Salcedo et al., 2022). As part of our history, ESAN has been created for around 60 years by the initiative of the Government of Peru, USAID, and Stanford University. From its roots, this integrating initiative allowed the creation of a knowledge promotion culture in the social sciences focused on economics and business with a global vision. Thanks to this organizational culture, an institution was legitimized over time, being able to overcome the contexts and promote knowledge development across borders. About 30 years ago, in 1992, part of the formalization of that institutional legitimacy gained gave rise to the creation of our journal, called, at the time, Cuadernos de Difusion. The journal not only promoted the initiative from the domestic level but also, with the international spirit with which it was created, promoted the collective participation of collaborators worldwide, managing to consolidate over the years. As a result of this and in the search to strengthen its international recognition, the journal changed its name in 2009 to the current Journal of Economics, Finance and Administrative Science (JEFAS) and accessed the leading regional and world indexers such as Scielo and Scopus. Likewise, we changed our independent editorial management model to a cooperative one to enrich ourselves with good practices, with publishers like Elsevier at the beginning and Emerald Publishing today.

When we considered applying for the co-editorship of this journal, we joked that we could at least add some colour to it, through our surnames. And now that we have begun the task of editing, we have been preoccupied by another namethe European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA)-and what both the phrase and each of those words might mean in the contemporary moment. We will explicitly provide space to explore this over the next four years in the journal's pages. We begin with the idea of 'European', and the following is what we have had to say about that so far, as posted on the journal's website:
