I wanted to let you know that I support you and I support the right of Jews, individually and collectively, to exist, to have a homeland, and to defend themselves from attempts to murder them. Hamas is a terrorist organization that must be removed from power so it cannot continue its campaign of murder and kidnapping. The events of 7 October were a massacre that cannot be justified. The root cause of murder is the murderers. Efforts to compel the cessation of support to Israel are wrong. Efforts to boycott, divest from, or sanction Israel are wrong. It feels silly writing these things, because they seem so self-evident. But I have allowed myself to be ignorant of the depths to which discourse and thought on this topic has sunk.

The rate of penetration (ROP) optimization is one of the most important factors in improving drilling efficiency, especially in the downturn time of oil prices. This process is crucial in the well planning and exploration phases, where the selection of the drilling bits and parameters has a significant impact on the total cost and time of the drilling operation. FCUP/FCNAUP Determinação da capacidade antioxidante e parâmetros físico-químicos em smoothies: estabilidade ao longo do tempo de armazenamento 2 Resumo Os smoothies são bebidas obtidas pela mistura de frutas, sumos de frutas e iogurte ou leite. A capacidade antioxidante está relacionada com compostos bioativos capazes de protegerem o sistema biológico de efeitos deletérios provocados por reações ou processos envolvendo radicais livres. No presente trabalho, estudou-se a atividade antioxidante e o teor em antioxidantes de smoothies com diferentes formulações disponíveis no mercado português e a sua evolução ao longo de 21 dias, divididos em 3 momentos de avaliação (0, 14 e 21 dias), com o objetivo de obter informação acerca da degradação destes compostos. Foram também avaliados os parâmetros físicoquímicos associados à qualidade (pH, acidez titulável, teor de sólidos solúveis e cromaticidade). A atividade antioxidante foi avaliada através da capacidade captora de radicais 2,2-difenil-1-picril-hidrazilo (DPPH) e poder redutor. Os compostos antioxidantes determinados foram os compostos fenólicos, flavonoides, taninos e ácido ascórbico. Os resultados mostraram que, nas amostras utilizadas para este estudo, ocorreu uma diminuição da concentração dos compostos bioativos e da capacidade antioxidante. O tempo de armazenamento será um fator para a diminuição da capacidade antioxidante analisado pelo ensaio do poder redutor. Será necessário desenvolver este estudo, para compreender se matrizes alimentares, como o leite fermentado, a inclusão de hortícolas na composição dos smoothies, a utilização de polmes ou a combinação de frutos específica, na sua composição serão importantes para proteger os antioxidantes da deterioração. Brushless Direct Current Motor (BLDC) is a unique class of machine with significant advancements in its control drive. This is owing to the fact that BLDC has a wide range of applications in various fields, including aerospace, robotics, medicine, and others, due to its distinctive construction and features, such as its compact size, high efficiency, and broad range of speed control. Additionally, since the BLDC is a non-linear system, uncertainty occurs while it is in operation. Controlling BLDC becomes significant since it also contributes to several critical applications, such as electric car traction and aerospace. The proposed research uses a novel meta-heuristic optimization technique called the Salp Swarm Algorithm to achieve the goal of decreasing the transient as well as steady state performance of the BLDC machine (SSA). SSA is a recently created nature-based mimic algorithm that is widely employed in a variety of optimization problems in numerous disciplines. The PID Controller's K p , K i , and K d coefficients are optimised in this project work using SSA. Three different conditions 2000 rpm, 3000 rpm, and 2000 rpm with load were used for the research. Where outcomes are discovered to be satisfactorily good. In all the cases Maximum peak overshoot is 0% with average reduction in transient period is 48.90 %. Also significantly good reduction in Electromagnetic Torque and Stator Currents are observed. Finally, it is successful to apply SSA to tune the PID controller and obtain optimum values for BLDC motor control.

Background The anterior approach to the elbow for pediatric lateral condyle fractures (LCF) would provide a better visualization of the articular fracture resulting in better functional results, less complications and a more cosmetically-appealing scar than usually seen with the lateral approach. Methods Retrospective study of children undergoing an open reduction and internal fixation of a displaced LCF via an anterior approach with a transverse incision. Bilateral elbow range of motion (ROM), upper limb alignment and complications were registered. A 4-point ordinal Likert-type scale was employed for parents to rate their level of satisfaction with the cosmetic appearance of the scar. Results Eighteen children of mean age 76 months (range 27 to 101 months) were included. Fractures were classified as Jackob's Type II in 14 cases and Milch's type II in all cases. Protest movements are an aspect of history garnering closer attention in recent years, in particular those instigated by ethnic minorities or diasporic communities from the mid-1800s to early 1900s, when governments introduced discriminatory policies. This article will survey Chinese protest movements in this period in Australia and around the world with a focus on the Northern Territory (the 'Territory') as a case study of organised, sustained, and varied resistance. The Chinese in the Territory, led by wealthy merchants, were active protesters around the time of Federation and the formulation of discriminatory legislation, such as the 1901 Immigration Restriction Act. Remarkably, such protests were often made in English and were supported by some Europeans.

This study examined the influence of capital intensity on profitability of listed oil and gas firms in Nigeria. It specifically sought to determine the extent to which property, plant and equipment, intangible non-current assets, non-current prepayments as well as investment property, affect the profit margin of oil and gas firms in Nigeria. The study adopts the ex post facto research design. Data was generated from nine (9) listed oil and gas companies, which were selected through the purposive sampling procedure. The period of the study was five years (2014 to 2018). The random effect regression model was used to analyse the relationships between the variables of study, after applying the Hausman Test. The results showed that all the variables had significant positive effects on the profit margin except intangible non-current assets, which was not significant. It was therefore concluded that firms with higher capital intensity were bound to perform financially better than those with lower ones. Consequently, it was recommended that oil and gas firms should strive to have an optimal capital intensity that will ensure improved performance of their firms at all times.
