This is owing to the fact that BLDC has a wide range of applications in various fields, including aerospace, robotics, medicine, and others, due to its distinctive construction and features, such as its compact size, high efficiency, and broad range of speed control. Additionally, since the BLDC is a non-linear system, uncertainty occurs while it is in operation. Controlling BLDC becomes significant since it also contributes to several critical applications, such as electric car traction and aerospace. The proposed research uses a novel meta-heuristic optimization technique called the Salp Swarm Algorithm to achieve the goal of decreasing the transient as well as steady state performance of the BLDC machine (SSA). SSA is a recently created nature-based mimic algorithm that is widely employed in a variety of optimization problems in numerous disciplines. The PID Controller's K p , K i , and K d coefficients are optimised in this project work using SSA. Three different conditions 2000 rpm, 3000 rpm, and 2000 rpm with load were used for the research. Where outcomes are discovered to be satisfactorily good. In all the cases Maximum peak overshoot is 0% with average reduction in transient period is 48.90 %. Also significantly good reduction in Electromagnetic Torque and Stator Currents are observed. Finally, it is successful to apply SSA to tune the PID controller and obtain optimum values for BLDC motor control.
