En este trabajo presentaremos un manuscrito anónimo de 1778, dirigido al hacendado guipuzcoano Ramón María de Zurbano, en el cual se defiende que el euskera es la lengua en que Dios habló a Adán, y por tanto la primera de la humanidad. Esta teoría, denominada vascoangelismo por Julio de Urquijo era compartida por el militar Juan de Perochegui y a comienzos del siglo XIX tuvo entre sus defensores a personajes como Erro o Astarloa. Pese a su arcaísmo aparente, defendemos que este planteamiento constituía un desarrollo de los mitos que cimentaban el sistema foral de las provincias vascas y que incluso se vio influido por el interés ilustrado en dilucidar los orígenes de la humanidad más allá de la visión bíblica ortodoxa.

The current world economic and productive system as well as the lifestyle of the capitalist civilization are the main causes of the “sixth great extinction of life” on this planet. Without radical change, we are headed toward a planetary ecological catastrophe and perhaps toward our own extinction as a living species. Based on this VISION that we take as given and whose evidence can be found everywhere, we enter into the theological JUDGEMENT of the situation. Our thesis is that, by themselves and alone, neither capital or politics or institutional religions, can provide a remedy for the destruction toward which we seem to be moving. That remedy will be possible only if there is a collective change of religious mentality. This is a task proper to theology. As things stand today, religion continues to be the world’s most deeply mobilizing force. Even those who say they stand outside religious institutions are not freed from a basic religious vision that essentially conditions their way of seeing the world and themselves. We maintain that only a change in this “deep” (religious) way of seeing, only a change in that “vision,” can make the survival of humanity possible. This is so because. we will only stop destroying nature when we discover its divine dimension and our identity in nature

We propose a novel approach to the problem of inverse kinematics for possibly redundant planar manipulators. We show that, by considering the joints as point masses in a fictitious gravity field, and by adding proper constraints to take into account the length of the links, the kinematic inversion may be cast as a convex programming problem. Convex constraints in the decision variables (in particular, linear constraints in the workspace) are easily managed with the proposed approach. We also show how to exploit the idea for avoiding obstacles while tracking a reference end-effector trajec-tory and discuss how to extend the results to some kinds of non-planar manipulators. Simulation results are reported, showing the effectiveness of the approach.

The article examines the nature, causes, and implications of inmate rehabilitation in Nigeria by explaining the Risk-Need-Responsivity model. The study reviewed secondary qualitative data, mostly a literature review, and it reinforced and added to the existing body of knowledge on inmate rehabilitation worldwide, particularly in Nigeria. The article finds that there are causes of congestion in the custodial center, such as overuse of imprisonment, a slow judicial process, insufficient prison capacity, a lack of adequate police investigation and prosecution, resource and operational efficiency, and a delay in the administration of justice. The paper adopts Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) theory to outline the process of the significance of rehabilitation towards inmates. The model emphasizes assessing and treating inmates according to their ability and risk of re-offending. The research applied a case study that examined the causes of custodial center congestion and identified the implications on inmate rehabilitation in Nigeria. The paper revealed that the consequences of custodial center congestion are spreading infectious disease, breakdown of social control, poor custodial center conditions, access to rehabilitation programs, and too much cost to the State. The study also explained various correctional facilities provide rehabilitation programs based on the criminogenic needs of the inmate, such as counseling programs, adult education, vocational programs, sports and leisure activities, and religious activities.
