Description
[edit | edit source]Transcription workshop for all skill levels. Bring your favorite public domain book, upload it, and create an index for transcription.
Relationship to the theme
[edit | edit source]This session will address the conference theme — Wikimedia, Free Knowledge and the Sustainable Development Goals — in the following manner:
By hands on demonstration of the transcription task flow, we can share the skills necessary, and demonstrate online book output.

We will demonstrate the transcription workflow resulting in created Index pages in the appropriate wikisource language, enabling transcription at each.

[edit | edit source]Each Space at Wikimania 2019 will have specific format requests. The program design prioritises submissions which are future-oriented and directly engage the audience. The format of this submission is a:
- Workshop to identify and troubleshoot preparation of texts. Provide a task flow to address the lack of texts to transcribe.
