The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS)

The International Council on Monuments and Sites provides the World Heritage Committee with evaluations of cultural and mixed properties proposed for inscription on the World Heritage List. It is an international, non-governmental organization founded in 1965, with an international secretariat in Paris. ICOMOS is one of the main participants in the World Heritage Information Network (WHIN).
