Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage

The UNESCO Chair Programme on Cultural Heritage and Risk Management International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage 2009 will be held in Kyoto, Japan and Kathmandu, Nepal. The course will take place from 31 August to 12 September, and is organized by the Research Center for Disaster Mitigation of Urban Cultural Heritage, Ritsumeikan University, Japan.

In response to the Kathmandu Recommendations, adopted in the International Symposium on "Protecting World Cultural Heritage Sites and their Historic Urban Environment from Earthquakes" held in February 2009, this year's training course will focus on disaster risk management plans of cultural heritage in earthquake-prone historic urban areas.
