UNESCO World Heritage Centre, in collaboration with the Government of Norway, will organise an event entitled “Boosting World Heritage conservation in Africa to meet global targets for people and planet” during the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee, on Monday 22 July 2024, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm local time in Room 1 (MR6) of the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre, New Delhi, India.
Catering and interpretation in English and French is provided during the event.
The event is dedicated to conservation action in UNESCO World Heritage properties in Africa, demonstrating how these efforts are contributing not only to core aims of the World Heritage Convention but also to global targets on sustainable development aimed at improving human wellbeing and safeguarding a habitable planet.
This event will feature testimonials from UNESCO World Heritage sites as well as a panel of conservation practitioners from Africa to discuss experiences and lessons from sites.
