Some fun making Christmas cards and another Ombre card

Firstly I finished off my second Ombre card for the Group of Seven Cardmakers prompt for this month

Blended some Distress Inks - Squeezed lemonade, Fossilized amber, Ripe persimmon, Festive berries and decided to use it as is - Die cut in white card with Torn Edge die to create a frame and then attached a die cut flower (never used Kaisercraft Small Succulent) and a die cut 'Hello'.  I'm joining in the fun at NBUS #70 too.

Then just before Christmas we had the girls for a sleepover and of course they like to play with Nanas stuff.   So I showed them how to make cards with the cardboard toilet rolls

Here are mine I finished off this week....

Two Cards Today to Share...

Hi, and how's your week been?    I've had a card making time and also crochet

Today I have a card for Just Us Girls challenge #663 - with a Moodboard for inspiration...

A Birthday card... Die cut the sentiment letters and ran through the Cuttlebug with a swiss dots EF.  Watercoloured the die cut daisy (Sizzix - Wildflower stems #1) with Distress Inks, added some micro beads and painted on a little shimmer of sparkle
My second is a Christmas Card for the Rudolph Days Christmas Card January challenge

From my stash I found this silver embossed Poinsettia flower already coloured, so I fussy cut and teamed it with a die cut foliage from a new set (Kaisercraft - Flora Branches). Stamped and silver embossed the sentiment on some matching patterned paper.
I'm also adding my card to the NBUS challenge #46

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day and enjoy your weekend,   Cheers Robyn

Merry Christmas to ALL my Blogging friends

Looking forward to this time next week, when all the Christmas celebrations, cooking and eating are over once again and then one can relax and enjoy the moment and remember the events of the past year.

I've been busy with other things of late... visiting my mum for her 92nd birthday, having visitors stay, getting my Christmas cards written and sent, attending the girls end of year concerts, finishing off a few crochet projects and just a little time to make a few cards...

This one is for Just Add Ink challenge 634 - Anything but a card   - made using one of those 12x12 card pieces and adding a die cut tag

This one because while you're stamping one image you might as well make a TWOFER.

This one for Happy Little Stamper - Anything Goes with Dies December challenge

and NBUS challenge #45     using Sizzix Folk Art Stencil die

And a just because one.... the image has been waiting on my desk for ages, I teamed it with some new papers and a sentiment sticker..  one can never have enough birthday cards

And lastly this stencilled card for the - Anything Goes,  Stencil Fun December Challenge, using a Tim Holtz Flourish Layering stencil

Pics of my two recently finished crocheted blankets

Looking forward to 2023, keeping happy, healthy and safe and most of all enjoying my crafts.
Wishing you ALL the Very Best for a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful, Safe and Prosperous New Year,  many hugs Robyn

Two Floral Cards

Hi and how was your weekend??
Mine was the usual, working some in the garden, some crochet and finished off a few more cards.
Two Floral cards for The Flower Challenge..
and wishing the team ALL the Very Best on their 6th Birthday

For this card I used a new gifted stamp - it's origin is unknown, stamped with smokey grey Versafine and watercoloured with Distress Inks with a little bit of coloured pencil for depth.
Die cut the frame with double stitched square die from Poppy Crafts, and stamped and silver embossed the sentiment from Kaisercraft.

My second card is also using a gifted stamp - PSX, Canna Lily, stamped with smokey grey Versafine and water coloured with Distress Inks.  Trimmed the panel and added a light green border layer. Stamped the sentiment with black Versafine ink on match green cards strip.. Happy Little Stampers: Especially for You set and attached with foam tape

Three Floral Cards

Enjoying some time finishing off a few more cards this afternoon.... after finishing off the latest Hexie Motifs for a CAL that I've joined...

These are this weeks motifs

and these are last weeks.

I haven't made hexagons before so it's an interesting project

Now for my cards.... I'm playing along with four challenges with these

Using a new stamp from  STAMPlorations Blossom Spray #5, stamped with Versafine smokey grey and watercoloured with Distress Oxides - kitsch flamingo, picked raspberry, twisted citron, mown lawn, trimmed the panel and attached to a white card.  Stamped and black embossed sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Dandelion Wishes set, on green card and attached with foam dots.

I used a new stencil for the flowers on this slimline card... Bloom Collage stencil from ARTplorations,  and blended over Distress Oxides... carved pumpkin, fossilised amber, mustard seed.  Then added some mustard seed DO stencilled dots with Kaisercraft Spotty stencil.   I die cut a large Birthday from yellow card with CUTplorations die and attached to a black card strip with a mini stamped 'wishes' from Hero Arts Petite Birthday set.... assembled the elements on an orange card

I die cut the elements in white card... the lattice is from Uniquely Creative and the flowers are Sizzix - Wildflower Stems #1.  Watercoloured the flowers with Distress Oxides - fossilised amber, carved pumpkin, ripe persimmon, twisted citron, rustic wilderness.  Chose a patterned paper from my stash and attached the elements with a stamped and clear embossed sentiment - Happy Little Stampers - Fun birthday sentiment set.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a Wonderful Weekend

Cheers Robyn

Merry Christmas

  • In my stash I found this stencil mono print - created using a magazine freebie Pretty Poinsettia stencil and Distress Oxide Inks - festive berries, candied apple, mown lawn - and using the ink left on the stencil lightly spritzed with water and pressed to white card (after I had used to blend colour through the stencil for another background)
  • Die cut the Poinsettia - Sizzix: Layered Christmas Flower - new addition and NBUS
  • Then using Distress Oxides added colours to my work sheet and smooched the pieces - candied apple, barn door, crackling campfire, fossilised amber, twisted citron, mown lawn
  • Used die cuts for the sentiment... Merry in my pre-cut stash (fiends die) and Christmas - from Poppy Crafts - We wish you a Merry Christmas set
  • Assembled the card added glitter glue to the flower centre and shaped the petals

I am playing along with Peace on Earth Christmas challenge #3 - Anything Goes

and also NBUS challenge #32

Thinking of You

Happy to find a Stencil Mono-print in my stash from previous experimenting with this cool technique... which is the challenge for November at CAS Mix Up.
  • I had used a stencil from The Craft Stall, and inked with Distress Oxides.. not sure of the colours.  Trimmed the panel and ran the edge over Abandoned Coral DI pad - this helps break the starkness when using a white card
  • Die cut two sprigs - in dark red, coral using Sizzix Delicate Leaves... for the first time an NBUS die set
  • Lastly stamped the sentiment from Close to my Heart: Beloved Bouquet set, with Versamark on black card and heat embossed with white EP
  • Attached all the elements to a square card and using foam tape on the sentiment strip

I am also joining in with the November NBUS challenge #32

Thanks for stopping by my blog,  have a Wonderful Creative day,   Cheers  Robyn

This is the stencil I used... and as it is made of thicker plastic you can get a bit of an outline when you press down as you transfer the ink

And here's me on a camp trip 2 weeks back starting my latest crochet project ... a Hexagon Cardigan..
