Brett M Carmouché, MPA, MA
Brett Michael Carmouché completed his Master of Public Administration (Summa Cum Laude) at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota in May of 2018. His capstone project examined in what ways the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act and associated policies have adversely affected its adherents and public administrators. Brett was inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha (The National Public Administration Honor Society) in recognition of his academic achievement. Prior to this, Carmouché earned a Masters of Arts in Human Rights with an emphasis in Law and Political Science at the University of Manchester in Manchester, England in 2012.
Whilst at Manchester, Brett studied and worked under Dr. Kirsty Alexander in the School of Social Sciences. His dissertation, entitled, “Breaking the Illusion: Deconstructing the Western Preoccupation with the Philosophic Presuppositions in Human Rights Discourse,” examined the extent to which the western preoccupation with the philosophic presuppositions inherent within human rights discourse is defensible.
Carmouché earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, in 2011. Whilst at Olivet, Carmouché studied under Dr. William Dean, Dr. David Van Heemst, and Dr. Brian Woodworth. He graduated with departmental honors and was inducted into both Pi Sigma Alpha (The National Political Science Honor Society) and Alpha Phi Sigma (The National Criminal Justice Honor Society). His undergraduate thesis entitled, “A History and Analysis of the United Military’s treatment of Homosexual Service Members, 1917-2010,” critically investigated and analyzed the history and treatment of homosexuals within the United States military.
Brett enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, writing, legal Research and public policy, compliance, domestic/international relations, hiking, photography, music exploration and enjoyment, travel, football (soccer), wine and beers, cigars, baking, and so much more.
