Simple Sketches #18, Selfies at Seven

Here is the current sketch, #18 at Simple Sketches.

I still find it challenging to do a multiple picture LO!  I believe this is because I can find two or three that I would put together, but four or more it is hard.  The fourth doesn't match, or it's a bit blurry, or it looks like there is something sticking out of someone's head.

The photos for this LO were from my son's folder in a folder to which I hadn't been paying attention. I thought it was random baby photos, but when I opened the folder, they had been taken by my son.  He had a ton of selfies in that neglected file, and I found it difficult to just pick four.

The design team at Simple Sketches hope that this sketch inspires you!  Please link any creations to Simple Sketches!

12th Day of Creepmas

I can't believe that it is the end of Creepmas.  It is over too soon!  I am mourning the passing of Smeared and Smudge's Creepmas 2013.

Here is the funeral of Santa, in the Smeared Ink digital stamp, Death Cab 5.  Historically, white funeral carriages were for women and children, but I figure it would be formal for Santa.  I gave Santa matching white dress robes, and the Grim Reaper is out of his everyday black.  The reindeer are die cuts.

If you are a Merry Hopper, Kristy's blog is next, or you can select the next site from the side bar.

Thanks for following along with me.  This challenge has given me a chance to do something new and different for me.   I am glad that I found Creepmas!

10th Day of Creepmas

My Creepmas card for today is a simple one.  I stamped and added some chipboard.  I guess you could call this one my clean and simple card.  The main image of the wreath and raven are from Inkadinkado.  The background stamp, "Old Wall," and the chipboard skulls are from 3rd Eye.  The blood drops are from Etsy.

If you are a Merry Hopper, Kristy's blog is next.  Thanks for stopping by!

Wendy, the texture on the Santa hat was done with Pearl Pen.

9th Day of Creepmas

He sees you when you're sleeping.
He knows when you're awake.
He knows if you've been bad or good,
So, you better be good for Creepmas sake!

Skully Claus is coming to town!

You've been warned.

The main image of my Skully Claus is really "Watchful Eye" by Smeared Ink.  The stamped eyes in the background are from 3rd Eye.

Here is a closer pic.

I hope you enjoyed today's Creepmas card. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
Eye'll be seeing you!

8th Day of Creepmas

Here we are on the 8th day of Creepmas. Brunhilda has decided to give herself a treat day and go off her diet during the Creepmas festivities.  Now she has decided how to fatten up her favorite meal, by making Creepmas cookies! After a cruel girl tried to shove Brunhilda into her own oven, she sold it to her nearest neighbor. Now she just has to figure out the correct spell for conjuring cookies.

Viva la Romance

This week's challenge is to use Paris or Romance.  I went with Romance.  All the script on the cardstock is in French, so it's easier for you to pretend that you are looking at a couple strolling in Paris.  The lo of this card was inspired by Renea.  See her card here.  I was following her tutorial for the Make it in Minutes card for a birthday card, then I made this card right after.

We would love to see your entry.  Join us by Friday, December 20 (11:59 p.m. PST) to enter.  You could be the next one to dance on our with the lampshade on your head as our new Life of the Party!

To see the other Drunken Creations, please see my fellow  Tropical Hooters ( and Wendy), follow their names below:

Christmas at Seuss Landing

Here is this weeks sketch for Simple Sketches.  You'll have to check out how the other members of the design team used this sketch.  Their are so many ways to use this sketch, but I went the cartoony route of last Christmas when we were fortunate to be able to go to Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida.  My daughter and I decided to make Seuss Landing a second home.

To play along with this sketch, upload your project by the end of the month using the inlinkz tool.

7th Day of Creepmas

Welcome to the 7th day of the Smeared and Smudged Forum's Creepmas 2013!  I dedicate todays project to all the people out there that try to make their holidays perfect and then get really stressed out.  Especially now, since Christmas is less than two weeks away.  So, chill.  Your families won't hate you forever if the house isn't perfectly decorated or if you haven't made two dozen different types of Christmas cookies.

The Grumpie and the sentiment are from Smeared Ink's Occasions Grumpies Digi Set.   I just changed the font on the sentiment to the 'Bleeding Cowboy" font.    The "tree" I made from Anatomy 101- Skull Front digital stamp, which is also from Smeared Ink. Santa is fussy cut from a sheet of October Afternoon paper.

If you are a Merry Hopper, Kristy's blog is next.

6th Day of Creepmas

Naughty or Nice?

I was going to just leave Edgar hanging out with his two buddies, but I didn't like how I had fussy cut the penguin.  The penguin had to die.  I made Edgar a knife, and there it is!  This version is much creepier than the version I had planned.  Now the question is who was naughty and who was nice?  Have I been watching too much Dexter?

I received an Action Wobble from a fellow Drunken Stamper in a Christmas card swap.  I used it on Edgar, hee hee hee.

5th Day of Creepmas

Twas the night before Creepmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even Norman's mum....

I found this Bates House stamp online, and had to have it for Creepmas!
I left this card monochromatic, except for the light from the window.  Maybe Norman's mum is waiting up for Santa!

If you are a Jolly Blogger, you will be heading to Kristy's blog next!

Thanks for stopping by.

The Bates house can be bought from Cherry Pie Art Stamps on Etsy.  Click here to see the stamp in a set.  The stamp may also be bought individually.

4th Day of Creepmas

Once they placed that magic hat upon his head, he began to hunt them down....

Today's post contains a Smeared Ink image, Bad Ass Snowman, which I combined with some kiddos from October Afternoon.  I fussy cut both the digital stamp and the kids.  These kids must have found the wrong magic hat for their snowman!

If you are a Jolly Blogger, you will go to Kristy's site next.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying Creepmas!

The Alps ~ Scraps of Darkness

I made this LO with the November kit, "Waterlillies," from Scraps of Darkness.  The kit was full of awesomeness, as always!

I made this LO before I had a photo in mind.  All I knew was that I wanted something beautiful and blue.  I found this picture in my stash.  I believe this was somewhere in Switzerland.

3rd Day of Creepmas

Here is my 3rd day of Creepmas.  I decided to make an ornament with one of my 3rd Eye stamps.  It is not easy stamping onto a round object. That stamp wants to slide all over that glass!

Thanks for having a look.  If you are a Jolly Blogger, Kristi's blog is your next stop!

2nd day of Creepmas ~ Meet Me Under the Mistletoe

Today I have a card made with a digital stamp from Smeared Ink, called "Love Li'l Grumpies- Lovers".
Because they are smooching, they had to go under the mistletoe kissing ball.

I am going to keep this short, as I must wake up at 3am for work!  Making Creepmas card is much more fun, but a girl has to earn her craft supplies!

If you are a Jolly Blogger, I have moved the sidebar to the right.  (>>>)  I had a blogger mishap that we shall not speak of.  Just don't try out a new background without saving your original code!
Kristi's blog is next if have become lost!  Thanks for stopping by and having a peek!

1st Day of Creepmas

I am doing something completely different.
I am playing along at Smeared and Smudge's 12 Days of Creepmas.

Creepmas is like a Halloween/ Christmas mashup.
You get to combine your Halloween craft goodies with your Christmas craft goodies.

I will post a new image for the Creepmas challenge every few days along with a long list of other Jolly bloggers.  If you look to the left (<), there is the Jolly Blogger Blog Roll with the links to their blogs.  (I really do know that YOU know how this works, but I am required to point out the blog roll.)  If you are a Merry Hopper, good luck to you!  You are on Violent Kittie's blog and your next stop is Kristi's blog.

Without bothering you further, here is my First Day of Creepmas, "Bringing Home the Creepmas Tree."

Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Sketches #14: Opening Night

Sketch 14 is ready for your viewing pleasure!  I am enjoying working on Melissa's team.  I am in awe of how versatile her sketches can be if your style is clean and simple or if you prefer a bit more on your page.

My version of this sketch is clean and simple.*

* for me!

Drunken Stamper 152 Metal

Hello fellow card makers!  This week the Drunken Stampers are challenging you with Metal.  Your card can have anything metal or metallic.

I left my card as clean and simple as I was able.  I used green foil for the tree and used an embossing folder and a silver sharpie for interest.  The stars and moon in the night sky are all metal stickers.   The snowy hills are not metal, but I did add Prima chalk and diamond dust to their edges.

Best part, another Christmas card down!

Please have a look at what my fellow Tropical Hooters teammates came up for this week's challenge.

You have until 11:59 pm EST Friday, December 6 to add your link!

Thanks for playing along!

I finally used some G45 that I had been hoarding to make an ATC for a swap.  Just thought that I would share this with everyone.

Thanks for looking!

Starr Kempf

For this sketch I used photos of one of Starr Kempf's sculptures.  My husband knows how much I like sculpture and road side art, so he took me to this spot while we were in Colorado over the summer.  Here is a bit of information about this artist and his sculptures.

This is sketch #12 from Simple Sketches.

Elvis is in My Blog!

This week's theme at Drunken Stampers is a person.  That person was the King of Bling!  Ok, he's pretty much the king of rock and roll, but he was not scared to bring on the bling.

Your challenge is to make a card with Elvis, or your project can have a music theme.

I used blue card stock for the base of my card.  I used heavy gel medium with the new Tim Holtz (thanks, Tim!) stars stencil then added dark blue and white glitter while the medium was wet.  The Elvis stamp is from pinkflamingo61 on Etsy.  I stamped the image with Staz-On ink, then went over the word "Elvis" with Crystal Stickles.  I gave the King all of the bling I could.  Then I cheated.  I used stickers.  Yes, the words, notes and badge are from a sticker kit.  I just felt Elvis needed all the glitz he could get.

On the inside of the card I mounted a white piece of card stock and stuck more stickers on there.  I figured from here you could make it any kind of celebration card.

Check out how my other Tropical Hooter teammates can inspire you for this week's challenge.

You have until 11:59 p.m. PST Friday (22nd November) to enter to become our newest Life of the Party!!!!

should I do it?
Thank you, thank you very much.

I want a dollar for any of my design team members that types that on their blogs!

Halloween Mini Album Cover

I started working on a mini album to celebrate my kids' Halloweens.  I have lots of Halloween paper to use, and one of my favorite places, 3rd Eye, is having a pumpkin challenge.  I think I may still have time to enter the 3rd Eye contest!

The zombie hands stamp and the die cut spiderweb are both by 3rd Eye.

Fashionista @ 7

Challenge #69 at Punky Scraps is ready for your participation!  Here are the inspiration photo and the optional sketch.

All those clothes in the inspiration photo remind me of playing dress up.  Here is my daughter modeling her new sweater.  Her boots were light pink and beat up, so I recolored them in photoshop.  You have until December 15th to upload your project on the Punky Scraps page!

The Queen of the Mellow Time

"Autumn's the mellow time."
-William Allingham
I used autumn as inspiration for the October/November tag swap at Scraps of Darkness.  I hope you like it, Sarah! I enjoyed making this one.

There's No Day Like a Snow Day

I participated on the "A" team this week, so I have an extra post.

Simple Sketches #10

I am late posting this, I should have done this on November 2nd!

Jack-O'-Lanterns are one of my favorite parts of Halloween, which is my favorite holiday.
I always try to remember to get a picture of them in the dark, which shows off their true Jack-O'-Lantern character.

Here is sketch #10 from Simple Sketches:

Again, sorry for being forgetful!

He Was Away Often

Drunken Stampers Challenge 148 has rolled out with the theme of "workplace."
I chose pilot as I am married to one and speak from experience.

 Inside of card:

The stamps on my card were done in River City Rubber Works except for the compass, which is an old Stampendous one.  The images were stamped on white CS with Dove Gray Staz-On and colored with Copics.  The background and compass were done in Distress Inks.  I used Salty Ocean, Broken China, and Tumbled glass.  The clouds are chippies from UmWowStudio.

Join us at Drunken Stampers and you could be chosen as our Life of the Party for this challenge!  Upload your entry by Friday, November 8th at 11:59p.m. PST.
