Flea Market Goodies

I braved the cold and wet today and paid a visit to the Oxford Vintage Bric a Brac market. I managed to get a few goodies:- some sweet tiny pearl buttons, vintage braid and ribbon, some lace and a gorgeous old postcard.

Winter Altered Photo

This is a photo from our recent snowy spell which I have been playing around with in Elements. I have used a couple of different textures and a couple of brushes which I made myself. I also used a lovely glass plate negative plate from Christina Renee Designs at Oscraps.

Retro is really out of my comfort zone and the colours are not those I would normally use but I must say I enjoyed doing something slightly different but I just had to add lace. Hope you like them.

20 Minutes A Day - Doesn't seem too difficult.....

Here is a great idea I stumbled upon when searching through the OWOH bloglist and this site was a favourite of one of the Magic Carpet Riders. The blog is Fiona's Marmalade Rose.

Fiona made a New Year's Resolution to try and spend at least 20 minutes every day sewing and members of the group are encouraged to do this or indulge in their own craft: some knitting, some sketching, some crochet etc. I checked with Fiona to see if mixed media/altered art and papercrafts could be included and this is apparently OK. I fully intend to give this a go as I spend far too much time either on the computer or planning and researching what I am going to make next rather than actually doing it.

I had the urge to do a little Photoshopping after looking at some of the lovely collages created by members of the DJ Pettit Photo Manipulation Workshop. I was too late to sign up for this which I am really sorry about.

There are many layers and textures in this collage but I am happy with it.
