Kate Sicchio
Kate Sicchio works at the interface of technology and choreography. Her work includes performances, installations, web and video projects. She has presented work internationally across the US, Canada, Germany, Australia, Belguim and the UK at venues such as the V&A (London), EU Parliament (Brussels), Banff New Media Institute (Banff) and Arnolfini Art Centre (Bristol UK).
She has presented work at many conferences and symposia including ISEA, ACM Creativity and Cognition, DRHA, CORD, and SDHS. She has given artist talks at Times Up Linz, Dorkbot and Moves Festival.
Her PhD focused on the use of real-time video systems within live choreography and the conceptual framework of 'choreotopolgy' as a way to describe this work. Her research has been published by Leonardo Almanac (MIT Press), Computer Music Journal (MIT Press) and Media-N (New Media Caucus).
Kate Sicchio has had extensive teaching experience within higher education. She has taught a range of subjects from interactive technology and digital performance to choreography and composition to undergraduate and masters level students.
