In this article I will expose the factors that led to the intensive research of the area and I will interpolate the Austrian military map in 1910, to be able to obtain the exact coordinates of the sites, both GPS and Stereo70. This demarche is necessary for an exact location and for the creation of the spatial distribution of the sites.

During the field research done in 2010 and 2011, we have discovered a relatively well-preserved stone ax, which appears to belong to the Early Bronze Age, in the Cave from Clanţul Burcului, Ciclova Montana region, located in Banat. In this article, we describe the context of discovery and its implications. The new discovery could represent a start in the identification of new prehistoric settlements related to the exploitation of the natural resources from this area

Three areas were excavated, with a total surface of 495 m2. The discovered features may be ascribed to the 4th and 11th–12th century. From the total of 3rd – 4th century features, 11 are burials (inhumations in simple rectangular gravepits or within circular ditches that surround them). We also connected to magical-funerary aspects a rectangular feature overlapped by a grave surrounded by a circular ditch, where two small dogs were buried. The rest of the 3rd – 4th century features may be interpreted as domestic waste pits. The medieval features belong entirely to the household sphere, three houses and several waste pits being discovered.

cognitive capacity of the Neanderthal man researchers reported, through time, to several discoveries categories,
mainly related to the technical evolution in the Mousterian. A distinct category is represented by the discoveries
interpreted as proofs of symbolism, from among which the most frequently mentioned, are: ocher, fossils, mineralrocks
and the cave bear cult. There were numerous debates regarding these aspects, especially since the presence of
ocher or of fossil remains in Mousterian sites does not necessarily prove their symbolistic aspect, as they could have
had various utilitarian functions. In this study we will present a few discoveries regarding symbolism in the
Mousterian in Romania which have already entered the international scientific circuit. The focus will be on the
modern analysis performed, which included optical fiber digital microscopy (20X/200X magnification) and
computerized tomography which allows 3D reconstructions. The new discoveries brought significant contributions
and direct evidence especially to the use of ocher with symbolic purposes by the Neanderthal man.
