Recent studies explored the existence of multimodal interactions in traditional foot reflexology practice identified the haptic, visual and aural interactions involved in the therapy. However, it is unclear to what degree is the significance of each multi-modal interaction which influences the therapeutic experience users perceive. This paper presents a study that examined data collected for analysis from 3 certified practicing experts to identify the hierarchy of importance and weight of the contributing criteria in the therapy. The study findings presented the visual and aural hierarchy of interactive importance from the practitioners' perspective. Implications for future research are also discussed.

It is currently widely used as a complementary therapy, for stress relief and a potential diagnostic tool. In the society nowadays, there exist a lot of reflexology artifacts that claim to be an alternative substitutes to the traditional foot reflexology practice since the practices promote relaxation and stress relief. However, there has been very little or no attention given towards the verification of such anecdote and the identification of the similarities, differences and opportunities these reflexology artifacts offer. This paper hence aims to address this issue through the exploration of the practices. The study examined the interactive nature of four different sets of common reflexology artifacts from both the patients’ and the experts’ perspective. Data were collected through audio recorded semi-structured interview. The study findings revealed answers to those anecdotes, highlighting the similarities, difference and opportunities these reflexology artifacts offer. Implications for future research were also discussed.

Visual and aural interactions have been widely applied in various domains ranging from mobile industry to medical field. In Virtual reality stress therapy application particularly in the proliferation development towards the virtualization of traditional foot reflexology therapy, little is understood on the visual and aural interactive nature of the therapy and to what extent they contribute in relaxation and stress relief. This paper presents a study that examines from both the patients' and practitioners' perspective, the visual and aural interactive nature in foot reflexology domain since the practices promote relaxation and stress relief. The study explored 2 traditional foot reflexology sessions; data were collected through audio recorded semi-structured interview, and was analyzed using content analysis. Results were compared with the existing haptic exploratory procedures.

The procedure of testing and evaluating usability as quality characteristics in information systems has equally attracted researchers and professionals more in the recent times due to the developers’ attempt to meet the diverse users’ needs in the development of usable information systems. Hence, the paper aims to bring to the limelight; these current issues of usability and usability testing, the trend of the challenges inherent in the usability testing and evaluation process, then suggest the necessary attention that must be provided by subsequent researches in the bid to solve these lingering design research problems.
The consumers' market of mobile devices ranging from mobile phones, laptops, PDAs, Tablets, iPad ... more The consumers' market of mobile devices ranging from mobile phones, laptops, PDAs, Tablets, iPad amongst others is gaining momentum due to the increase in demand by the users, with the main interest of meeting their respective needs. The diverse needs of the users especially as it affects the purpose of the individual interest make developing mobile applications not only a challenging one, and also tasking, and in this light, usability characteristics of mobile applications have been indispensable when developing a useable mobile application. This paper aims to highlight the expected quality characteristics of a mobile application with a detailed reviewed discussion mostly on the usability characteristics, being one of the external characteristics of mobile applications according to ISO 9126.

Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is a way through r.vhich the materials and information of the library can be availed but was recently vierved to be undergoing reconstruction due to the change in users'expectations despite the reconstruction and the huge investment in the library web OPAC. Users are however restricted from making collections and having access lo their collection rvhich thereby limits its usefulness and acceptance. This study therefore used the general methodology for desigrr research to develop a library web OPAC prototype that will enhance the acceptance of library services, increase the usefi.rlness, ease of use and the interactivity of the library services and the users (folksonomies).

The telemarketing department of XP is a very significant department of the organization in that they are responsible for countless client's (other companies) details. They advertise the organization's services to numerous lists of clients from several sources and then make use of these details to perform daily routines which includes key in, search, verifications and so on, and is mostly done with the aid Microsoft Office Excel tool, then the updated files are sent to other departments through email or pendrive for record keeping and follow up. With the organization's increasing clients, routine jobs, staffs and massive amount of data to manage, the need for a centralized information system to enhance productivity, communication and coordination of these daily organizational routine tasks becomes inevitable. This study therefore used the general methodology for design research to develop the Xtreme Prestige Information System prototype to enhance the overall efficiency of organizational procedures.

This mobile application is principally usable by fishermen in Malaysia, hence Bahasa Melayu is the language used for displaying its information. However, the requirement and process models presented in this paper are adaptable for usage in any geographical location. The requirement gathering phase of our study presents validated six functional requirements. From our findings, it is shown that: some of the existing mobile applications are only compatible with android operating system, and fully internet-dependent. These features are not consistent with the socio-economic status and technology literacy level of many of these fishermen. This is because: they are mostly rural dwellers. Based on the results of the requirement gathering phase, this work presents a requirement model which shows the validated functional requirements of the mobile application, and also a novel process model of the mobile application. This process model highlights a semi-dependent internet-enabled client-server interaction. These two models are presented in Unified Modelling Language (UML) annotation, and users’ participatory design method was employed for the requirements validation process.
