Thus, the surveys of sixty students of National Diploma Program in Department of Architectural Technology, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State in Nigeria, were conducted to investigate possible effects of their acquired industrial training on their academic performance. The findings show that students’ mentoring via industrial training developed students’ understanding of their chosen profession and improve their knowledge in carrying out the practical aspect of their work.

We take a quantitative approach to investigate the frequent usage of public space by users in the study area in relation to place rootedness, place familiarity, place belonging, place identity, and place dependence as predictors of community attachment. Public space utilization was assessed with the respondent degree of participations in public space active/passive activities on daily, weekly, twice a week, monthly, and occasional basis. A total of 173 research questionnaires were administered to collate the respondent’s perception. The finding indicated that regular utilizing of public space is required in developing knowledge community attachment. However, place rootedness and place identity attainment demonstrated the need for more frequent public space utilization than other community attachment predictors. This implies that people need to interrelate with their social ...

Thus, this study aim to investigate the contributing influences of the degree of public space usages on tacit knowledge sharing. Cyberjaya Malaysia was considered as the study area having been adjudged as a high technology park that foothold in knowledge sharing for its knowledge based development. A total of 384 survey questionnaires were administered by the residents of the study area in various public spaces within the city to collate the respondent's perception on their degree of public space utilization in relation to tacit knowledge sharing behaviour. Validated variables were adapted to measure knowledge sharing while the frequencies of public space utilization were measure with the user's degree of visits to public spaces. Data collated were analysed with statistical packages for social science "SPSS" to access the differences and similarities in respondents perception. Our findings revealed that the frequencies at which people utilized public spaces exhibited similarity differences in their tacit knowledge sharing tendencies. Human attitudes towards sharing their knowledge indicated to require much social interactions and public space utilization.

Thus, Cyberjaya Malaysia was selected as the study area based on its concept as a technological city that footholds on knowledge sharing towards it knowledge based development. The study adopted validated measuring tools and developed a theoretical framework that link public space utilization with the knowledge sharing determinant factors. Survey questionnaires were administered on the residents in the study area and structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to validate the research framework. The finding indicated that public space utilization demonstrated significant influence on knowledge sharing.

This has led to the emergence of science cities by knowledge based development seeking nations. This study investigates the developmental trends of science cities by examine the evolutional concept of knowledge sharing development. The paper identifies and categorise various Technological parks/science cities with their major actors. However, this study submits that science cities are originally constituted by research institutions and universities for knowledge based objectives to achieve global development.

In addition, it's describes the comparative physical development between Cyberjaya, Malaysia and Tsukuba Science City, Japan. Thus, this study is engender towards identify the significant role of high tech parks in terms of the build environment, physical planning and design strategy in knowledge community planning. The analysis of the case study through physical elements and community participation in Cyberjaya, Malaysia and Tsukuba Science City, Japan indicates how people perceive their living and working environment. This study demonstrates and posits that sustainable environment can be achieve through effective physical planning and design approach in high tech park development.
