This involves the design, development and production of e-learning platforms, where e-simulation activities and gamification subject resources, support mechanisms (pre-class) and subject resources that addresses informative learning, collaborative and reflective learning (post-class) that enhance and extend the engagement, interactivity and agency in the context of e-learning environments. The proposed framework embeds a more holistic Arabic learning with providing students some excitement on the topic to be learned prior to the class and the post e-learning platform serves to facilitate student involvement in applying the knowledge acquired with self-assessment practices at their own pace and time anywhere. This largely means that the 4 hour per week Arabic face-to-face class can now be extended further from interactive instructional delivery to deeper learning in terms of students' understanding and focus more on the selective key pillars by showing the link through relatedness of being more effective.

Distance education has the potential to contribute to the enhancement of women’s development by o... more Distance education has the potential to contribute to the enhancement of women’s development by overcoming not only temporal and spatial barriers but familial commitments as well. It brings education to their home and allows women to learn at their individual pace, seek skills for individual development and at the same time, enables them to fulfill family responsibilities. An important element of distance education is the provision of the learner support system that provides students the access to learning resources and means of communication that would facilitate the array of educational activities and exposure to various other guidance and advisories. This paper reports on the study undertaken to elucidate the dimensions of the support system provided by the School of Distance Education (SDE), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to its women learners that would have significant impact on their achievements. The factorial analysis conducted revealed that the role of the faculty is the ...

The aspects of the self-transitional characteristics studied included study skills, recreational activities, health, finance, and religious activities. The findings of this study will provide distance education institutions with information regarding the characteristics of the self-transition experienced by adults as a result of becoming distance education learners. Such information is important for the institution in order to provide an adequate and suitable support system for learners in distance education that takes into account the self-transition that occurs among them in order to facilitate and assist them the learning process.

The development and evolution in Open and Distance Education (ODE) and innovations in information and communication technologies (ICT) have made access to knowledge and educational services in Malaysia more flexible as the delivery of distance programs now ranges from print to tutorial via video conferencing. Although ICT are affording distance teachers (DTs) extraordinary options and opportunities in the delivery of distance courses, realizing effective correspondence or communication and meaningful interactions appear a challenge to distance educators and learners alike. Effective distance learning dictates a shift towards a more “learner centered approach” to the teaching and learning transaction via the delivery mechanisms. This paper presents distance learners’ perspective on their learning by looking at teacher-learner li...

The researchers mentioned about the research tools and steps which are related to the design and development process. The study proposes the implementation of connectivism theory proposed by Downes and Siemens (2005), theory of second language acquisition by Krashen (1984), theory of multimedia learning by Mayer (2001) and Gagne’s 9 events of instruction by Gagne (1985). Various subjects matter experts in foreign language, syllabus design and instructional design (ID) have participated in the study. The outcome from this research will later be used by the researcher in the design and development processes. Key-Words: Design and development, theories and design principles, foreign language, open online courses, non-native students.

This is a qualitative study using literature review and document analysis methods by assessing and analyzing discussions in texts content and being translated in the form of narrative approach. The NAPCOD are designed by first identifying a set of four (4) fundamental levels of Naqli and Aqli knowledge integration. These fundamental levels are subsequently converted to NAPCOD development process. The outcomes of this integration emphasize on good characters within the framework of Naqli and Aqli integration.

The real obstacle is how to react to such changes in the education environment with strategic modernisation by examining new concepts and models. Iraqi higher education (IHE), specifically, and all the countries, in general are ranked by the UN agencies in the zone of weak using of ICT. A real lack for all types of ICT information can be discovered easily. IHE ...
