My Nest

Happy July everyone and happy July 4th all you Americans out there!! We hope everyone has been enjoying their summer (or winter you all south of the equator) and has gotten to relax a bit.  We realize people get busy in general, especially around the summer months, but people, keep playing along with us!!  We will showcase the July winner in a few days and see her beautiful My Nest project, you will NOT be disappointed, it's pretty rad!

So, come show us your My Nest layouts or projects.  What areas of your home do you fancy?  Do you have collections you adore?  Is there a few things that define your living space?  Come show us!!!
Please remember, we appreciate seeing everyone's in the new Flickr group here, it just makes it much easier to look at everyones projects!!

The Creative Type is looking for new designers.

We have reached that point in our life where we are looking to bring some fresh new faces on board to The Creative Type.

 Please send  your favorite layout that shows off your use of font/type to [email protected].  Along with  the photo just  tell us something about yourself and where you are from.  That is pretty much it.  The deadline for this will be Friday, July 22nd.

As a design team member you will have to do the following

• Complete and submit on time one layout a month for that month's challenge
• Contribute a blog post to the Creative Type once a month.  This can be tips, techniques, side projects etc.
• Each member will be responsible for posting current challenge blog post(on either the 1st or 15th) at least once in their 6 month term.
•  Blog, Facebook, twitter when new challenge comes out on the 1st and 15th of each month.

And that is pretty much it!  We look forward to adding some new members and breathing some  life back into our sails.

July's special guest designer is Gigi from down under in Australia.  We loved her June Creative Type entry with all it's decoupaging and thick layers, so we asked her to join us for July's prompt, my nest.  We absolutely love what she did! And here's a little on her...
Hi!!

My name is Giovanna and I live in Australia with my husband and 2 boys. A friend introduced me to scrapbooking back in 2004 and I’ve kinda de-volved to my first love of hand-lettering and mixed media on my layouts.

Outside of being a full-time Super Mum, I enjoy my weekly Pilates class, my recently neglected treadmill and staying in touch with friends over coffee or a movie or dinner. A simple, uncomplicated life these days.

I’m inspired by other artists and scrapbookers and the natural environment. I also look to magazines and billboards for colour combinations and design tips. Although I may not physically DO something each day, I’m always thinking how I can incorporate different elements into my work.

I thank The Creative Type for the opportunity to show you all what I’ve done with this month’s prompt. I hope it will inspire you and to have faith in your own ability to do something a little different.
