Results show that a homogeneous solid structure can be achieved when the magnitude of Electric Magnetic Body Forces (EMBF, caused by AC currents interacting with static magnetic field) is 85N/cm 3 and the frequency is 50Hz. This is the first time obtaining a homogeneous hypermonotectic alloy by bulk solidification at a relative low cooling rate, 25K/min. The corresponding physical simulations are performed, which reveal that EMBF can mix the layered melt and slow down the droplet motion. Moreover, two physical models are proposed to illustrate how EMBF reduce the droplets' velocities.

The rural development policy for the period 2007-13 (Reg. 1698/2005) gave particular relevance to the "Leader approach" developed in the previous period 2000-2006, or to the "development and implementation of highly individual projects designed and executed by local partnerships to address specific local problems”. For the next programming period (2014-2020) decision makers should be provided with a framework of the actual situation resulting from such interventions, in order to overcome the problems that emerged in the previous phases and to propose innovative strategies and solutions. After an introduction on the close relations between local identity and European rural development policies, the special is...

Instead of reducing social issues, not only does this characteristic feature increase them but it also has negative repercussions on a cultural level and on the environment, with complete disregard for the key principles of sustainable development. Local communities are not usually able to interpret the potential for tourism development since they do not share common core needs with it. Consequently, the underlying needs of international tourism flows are neither interpreted nor understood. In this paper, the proposed strategy is community‑based tourism. Its core can be found in the integral mapping and management of every single component of Cape Verdean tourism that is given in the most interesting areas in terms of environment, landscape, and culture on the island. The development of identifying social and cultural traits plays a fundamental role when considering the balance between the ...

PAPER SESSION P31
The session aims to analyze the new geographies of the gap in the European Union, through the study of the performance of the most vulnerable economies in the years of economic and financial crisis. The dualistic structure of the Italian economy has always seen the less developed 'Mezzogiorno' as opposed to the Center-North. In this perspective we intend “Mezzogiorno” as a synonym of less developed region.
The goal of the session would be to explain, through the analysis of a significant number of case studies, the extent to which accession to the European Union has changed the fortunes of the most disadvantaged areas of the old and new member States, and what were the causes of the successes and failures. In this context, particular attention has to be paid to the aspects of policy at the regional scale, probably the fundamental determinants of success in the context of the financial and economic crisis started in 2007.
